Gee thanks Peter! Photo taken in 2008 before the drought broke, we had a dam with little water, now they have heaps and don't need our waterhole anymore. The cyclic nature of our environment never ceases to amaze. We love our birds and our Aussie hey?
That's so true, a few years back I'd stay once a month on a farm near Gulargambone in NSW and there's a family of Brolgas that come and go according to the water situation. When it's dry they head further out, and I was lucky enough to see them when I first starting visiting there, such beautiful birds.
Don't you love the crazy way that kookaburras fly, they look like they're going to crash !!
Thanks for the comment on my Deer photo in this past weeks contest. They didn't flee. The deer that hang-out near the ranger station aren't too jumpy. You can't get close to them, but they don't go bounding through the woods either.
Hi Luc, sorry about the long absence, it seems summertime is over for me. Winter's approaching and lots to orgranise, all back to work and Fotki takes a backseat. It's raining and cold outside, what better reason to catch up with friends. Will take a look at your albums hopefully in the not too distant future. Life's full of surprises lately, good intentions don't often come to fruition. I haven't forgotten my friends, but I will probably flitter in and out as circumstances dictate. Enough said and hope to catch you soon. P.S. Thanks for viewing my album over the past month, it was refreshing to find your lovely comments. Regards W.
Helene my sincere apologies to you for not acknowledging your Easter Greeting sooner. Love the selection of flowers you have chosen and how you have framed them individually. You brightened a somewhat sad time for me as I've been sending flowers lately for other reasons. Many thanks and keep sharing your world of flowers, cause I love em! Regards W.
Hi Vince, finally I have arrived to thank you my dear friend for remembering me at Easter. This is a favourite cause it reminds me so much of my own garden. A pleasant surprise to find and a delight to keep! Belated Easter greetings to you and Arabella. Hope to keep in touch more often. Regards W.
Hi guys and birds! Sorry about the delay in replying but life delivered a few bombshells and knocked me for a six. I like the various poses you have captured of our loveable cocky and I love that superb red and blue parrot in the corner eating the orange berries, they are difficult to capture hey? A big thankyou for your take on our Aussie friends! Regards W.
Hi Wendi, Thanks for your kind comments on my springflowers album, much appreciated. I don`t know what `s going on with fotki, they promised a week ago to fix the problem, but I don`t see my avatar back again. It is not difficult to put a new member on the search engine, so I `m wondering why would it be so difficult to place ours back again ! Is yours still visible on the search engine, because I read Vince' writing it isn`t visible too.Have a wonderful weekend ! Hélène
Hi Roy! Thanks for sending me the capture from Rosebud, I only wish it were me taking the early morning dip into that crystal clear water. I love the way you have captured the seagull in action and I like the lichen covered rock adding contrast to the overall view. Excellent lighting, focus and DOF. Regards W.
