Wow, I just read Les' message! What a contrast to our weather here in the northwest!. We have been wearing our wool sweaters and tonight I just got tired of being cold so I build a nice cozy fire in the woodstove! Our weatherman is calling it Junuary! I guess things couId be a lot worse and I hope Les and his family will be all right!

Hi Viv......it's been an interesting weather day in the Glen. Bright and sunny this morning. I got in a nice bike ride (27miles...43km) followed by mowing the lawn. The wind has been blowing at a steady 25 mph (40km) with gusts way above that. It has blown a TON of seeds off the maple tree. They are a pain-in-the-a_ _ to clean up. Not to mention the need to climb up on the roof and get them out of the rain gutters. Seeds in the spring....dead leaves in the autumn. The annual rituals. Then the humidity went REALLY high and it got very uncomfortable. The temp was 92 F. (33 C.) around noon with high dew points.....very uncomfortable. Then the thunder clouds started building as they do in this part of the country on hot afternoons. Wall clouds to 56,000 feet (19,000 km) have spawned tornadoes all over the place. The TV has had nothing but tornado coverage since 14:00 hrs. and it's now 17:15 and they are still on watching the storms on radar as they go through the area. MOST of them are to the south of the Glen, but we remain under a Tornado warning until 21:00 hrs. tonight. Also a Flood watch has been posted........up to 10 inches (25cm) of rain has fallen in some areas to the south of us with lightning all over the place and strong winds with gusts up to 100 mph (160 kph). It has not been a pleasant weather afternoon.......the same thing is expected tomorrow and throughout much of the next week. If you suddenly don't hear from me for a few days, it's probably due to massive power outages. Wish us luck!

Hi Viviane,
It was so kind of you to send me a beautiful rose for my birthday.
Last week was so special for me, a new start to my life now I am 60, lots of new things to try, but to crown it all I was surrounded by family and friends to help me celebrate and that is very important to me.
My party was a total surprise although Myra, friends and family knew about it for a few weeks. Myra did very well in managing to capture some very good shots during the party, particularly the shots of myself with my two sons and also the shots of my boys, husband and myself, they are my favourites.

Thank you again for your kind wishes and my rose.

God Bless
Cath

Hello Ms Viviane - I do hope you are well and all is good. Have you given any more thought about your Mug shot.?...I am waiting on a few more so you are not the only one who hasn't sent it yet.
Again, I hope all is well...summer weather has finally arrived here in CT and its quite enjoyable.
Take care,
Hugs as always

Hi Viv......just perused your new stuff. There's some fantastic photos to share. I have left some comments.

We had Commencement ceremonies this afternoon...all the seniors have graduated (photos will follow). Underclassmen have exams next week and I have several "tasks" to complete even though my class is over.

Kitchen painting is done, lots of woodwork work to do tomorrow and the counter top gets delivered and installed on Wednesday. Then the tiles go up above the counter back-splash and it should be pretty well done. Harry hopes to be finished Friday. CEL...E...BRA...TION! TIME FOR A BEER! HOORAY!

Gotta get back to work......have to get state track photos to the newspaper yet tonight and then graduation photos must follow. Busy! Busy!

Hi Viviane
Thanks for your message, was out at a retirement party last evening so did not get the chance to reply. Glad that everything went well in LA and that she is back safe and well. It is a beautiful warm day today, and I am just about to take my coffee out on the deck. No plans for the day yet, a late start because of a late finish yesterday, but we'll get there in the end. Have a lovely day. I hope you are getting the sun also.
