    Hey Tom,
Got this site going. I will put my midget pics as time allows. It was great chatting with you & your Dad at Cowtown. I wish we would have put on a better show for you but I ran the wrong gear. I ran a 614 when it should have been 630. Oh well 9th is better than last. I forgot the site for schwabes ph#. Our next decent race will be at Gator Motorplex in Willis oct. 17, & then at grayson county speedway halloween weekend. It will be a fri - sat show.
    See Ya,
    Steve Bennight

I can't believe Len Hayden is selling pictures of the All-American 400 which "Uncle" Bob Harmon owned the rights for. Although Bob left us in 2002, passing from cancer, the All-American 400 was the epitomy of short-track racing in America. The best short-track racers from across America joined in Nashville for this annual event with the first one being held in 1981, won by Butch Lindley. Jeff Purvis of nearby, Clarksville, Tn. was the only three-time winner of the prestigious event. I guess I should know all about these events as I am the only one around who was there from the beginning. Unfortunately others have used the name All American to promote events at Nashville, but nobody and I mean nobody can come close to promoting what "Uncle" Bob put together. Then when he brought Marc Colley into the week activities with the many country music stars participating in promoting a cure for diabeties the event along with a trade show was even larger. Anyone want more information, contact me at my email. Rest in peace "Uncle" Bob. Your right hand "The Colonel".

Very happy to see the photos from the All-American 400 at Nashville, particularly the 82-84 races, when I was flagging for ASA. Also enjoy all of your other photos. Thanks for posting them.

I really loved the pics from the speedway, can't wait to see more. I'd like to see the addition of the mini stocks and Ricci Ware's car. I'm now searching for my old personal pics of the speedway I have from the late 1970's, purchased from the concession stand. My father George Ellis was the track clown briefly in the late 1970's, I have a picture of him roasting a hot dog on the exhaust of an unknown drivers Mazda RX-3 Mini-Stocker. I have some pictures of Darrell Godferson's Chevelle somewhere, and Pat Lane's Camaro.

I am sad to see the condition of the track today. When I left Texas in 1983 the track was already in an advanced state of disrepair, I guess nature continues to claim it to this day. One day homes will occupy the place where motors once sang.
