Hello Jim ,i really love your 500 Strangers album,it is a wonderful subject, agreat idea my Friend.I would love to do the same, unfortunately here in Quebec it is stricly forbiden to take pictures of people in the streets by law,to protect privacy.if you do like the few i did it is at your own risk, a very stupid law......Have a great day! Luc
Thank you for your wonderful comments you left on my photos..I don't get much time to venture around and take them so I make up for it when I can....I have added you to friends so i can check out your photos
Hi Splendidjim, Thanx for the comments you left recently, much appreciated.....
Regarding the lightning strike album, I got very lucky that night, the storm lasted around 30mins and it was strike after strike the whole time and all in the same location, havn't had a storm here since...
Had a look at some of your albums, there are some nice pics and it won't be long before you have a good understanding of your camera's potential, I to would find a location and take dozens of shots with all different exposures and shutter speeds to achieve that one good image... Just keep shooting...
If I could suggest one thing it would be to try and take your pics during either a sunrise or sunset, the pics of stone henge would look great with a sky full of colour aswell as the pics of the bridge that where taken at night. I have trouble making any landscape shots look good or interesting with a clear blue sky... The shot you commented on and sugested that I crop it (which was a good suggestion) was taken just after the sun han dropped below the horizon and it was just about dark while taking those shots, but there is so much ambient light still around that is hard to see with our eyes but not for the camera with a long exposure... but dont leave it to late, you only have around half an hour after sunset to take advantage of this.
Thank you Jim for visiting my work's in progress album and for your wonderful comment,it's great to get feed back on my work, deeply appreciated, thanks Jim,Kathy
Bonjour Jim,must have been quite a day with Shelby.i've always thought that black and white was better for portraits......looks like you had lots of fun, take care! Luc!!
Thanks for visit and compliments ! You looked at my entry album, some photos are real nice ;-)) I was looking at your ''Clifton Suspension Bridge At Night '', because I wanted to look at and comparing the shutter times. But Fotki is working very slowly . I `m coming back some other time !
