Edmonton isn't a dead city, but it's not like Vancouver, or Montreal. For the comment about Russian rednecks, nonsense! Most Europeans who come to Canada maintain older national traditions, while just fitting into society on a day-to-day basis. Should Russian emigres wear ushanka, and felt boots?

I don't agree. In my opinion, Edmonton is a very sweet city with nice unobtrusive lifestyle. It's very western and concervative but pleasantly stable and predictable. It's not as flashy as Toronto or Vancouver and not as sofisticated as Ottawa and Montreal but still a lovely city with its own agenda and constant development.

Hi! I enjoy your photographs of Edmonton and Edmonton Russian Community. It must have taken you months/ years to compile such a lovely collection. I am researching Eastern-European communities in Alberta. With your photos in hand, I was able to learn more about them. Thank you!

I think these photos could make an awesome collection for the future archive of the Russian community in western Canada. It is great that there are some creative and enthusiastic people who take time to take photographs and maintain the visual letopis' of the events.
