I was bit busy to answer you earlier. First of all, happy Easter and thank you for in depth answer, I really appreciate it. I think there is almost nothing that we, Fotki members, can do to change the voting system. Maybe Fotki could implement some kind of bonus system in order to improve the quality of photos that are participating in the contest. The idea is very simple. There should be two quality levels (at least) of the photos that can participate. Bonus points can be gained when:
The photo is placed within first 20 (10 points) Placed from 21 to 40 place (8 points), and so on … When someone posts and album (5 points) … As well as some other criteria
So, if someone wants to participate in a higher quality contests, he has to collect certain number of bonus points. I do not think that you are a hair splitter, but some photos that are sent for contests should remain in family albums, and some should not be sent at all.
