By the way...for model carpet...you can but felt with sticky back at hobby store. (8 1/2 X 11 inch sheet) It comes in 4 or 5 colors. I make fit to floor then peel backing and stick in place. It will stretch for engine/tranny hump, too. I use it in all scales.
Hi, I buy the bolts at the hobby store. They are made by Walthers. They come in various sizes, too. The frame is made of brass and soldered together for the 32 Pick Up Truck project. I plan to make many frames of brass for projects in the future. You can get bolts, washers, and nuts at microfasteners.com , too. ( I think that is company name) Thanks for comments, Rick
Regaurding the green Ford pickup- If the info on the paper in front of it is correct the truck is a 1960 Ford and was produced by AMT, I should see the builder tomorrow night at our club meeting and I will confirm that info. Also most of his models are of that era and he has built a few trucks similar to that one, I will check with him to see if he has one to sell or knows where to get one. Thanks for checking out my pics, I will get back to you soon with any info I can. Happy Building Charlie PS- If you look at the IPMS HobbyExpo 2/2008 album the front page has more pics of the Ford trucks built by the same builder........ Thanks again
iam building a whole new front bumper for the 85-86 cars and i used the 84 gt front bumper. had to reshape the grill and work some around the lights. ill see if i can get some casted in resin in the next few months.
Instead of typing a long response that may not tell you all you need, I'm going to give you a link to some of the best Tutorials you'll find for nearly every aspect of Car modeling. Enjoy!
Doing foil is easy once you get the hang of it, but getting the hang of it is a very slow, tedious process. Get some Bare Metal Foil, grab a body, and just practice. It takes a while to get to the point where it's easy, but it's really worth it. Just be patient, get a good sharp (new) Xacto knife, and follow the instructions that come with the Bare Metal Foil and you'll be fine! And tell your Wife I love the color on that Shelby too. The more I look at it, the more I want to paint everything that color! =)
hola ivan gracias por entrar a my fotky perdon por no contestar antes lo que pasa es que hace 3 anios que deje de armar y de entrar aqui pero aqui ando otra vezx armando pronto subire los nuevosa modelos, gracias, de que lado del globo vives?
you asked for directions on dealing with decals on your models....
1- cut deacals as close to edge as possible 2- soak in luke warm water till they will slide off backing no longer... 3- place on smooth glossy surface 4- use a soft paer towel or rag to BLOT water away from decal 5- if using over irregular surface use a setting solution-Smooth with a fine bristle paint brush towork into crevices.... do not wipe decals they will rip 6- let dry, do not handle after you have blotted the water away fromdecal- if you try to move them they will tear
Good Luck...
