Being one that has just started back in detecting as a hobby it is nice to see someone from Brunswick on here and to know I might not be wasting my time. I currently have a Whites Prism IV and am still getting used to it. Would love meeting one day, take care and good hunting.

PS Have you ever had any hassle hunting the parks in Brunswick?

Hello Gordon....I actually live near the Atlantic Ocean on the coast here in Georgia. I have not hunted our beaches that much, one reason is that we have so much erosion that, unless you are there right after a hurricane, you are not going to find much. Pop tops at greater than 10 inches is not uncommon on a normal day. I do hunt the river banks though, and some of my 1700's coins finds were from areas less than 100yds from rivers. River areas and their banks are excellent places to hunt. But in all honesty, I hunt in the discriminate mode until I find coins or other valuable stuff...It saves a lot of digging...But when I find something of value. I go to all metal mode to sniff everything out..Good luck, you have a great machine, and should do well..Just give it some hours, it'll pay off for you.

Kelly.....My advice to you is to use the stock coil for another 6 months....learn it . I usually search "coins mode" in most places, but near beaches and recreation areas, I use the all metal mode, unless the trash is just over whelming. If it is, I go back to desc, and notch out the unwanted signals as they pop up...I uses the larger 12" coil occasionally, but the stock coil in all metal mode is really, really deep...Good luck!

Hi There, Pretty impressed with your site. I have had the GTI 2500 for about 6 months and still messing around with the settings. I am new but determined to figure it out. I have found coins, pins, buttons but no rings yet. I obviously an looking for treasure of any kind but any suggesting as to the settings to best find rings. I have had my best luck with zero, sensitivity a 8 using the smaller 9" coil. i havent tried the larger coil yet and could use some advise. I am headed to a local park in RI and a beach this weekend.. Any suggestions on coils, setting would be greatly appreciated.

I did notice in Zero when I put my gold ring on the ground it hits right before the 5 and ahead of the area??

Thank you,
Kelly

I was looking up coin prices on the PCGS when I came across your dector finds.
The photos, circumstances of your having found these coins etc. are very interesting and I'll be back to look further. Thank you for taking the time to photo and record all of the information.
