I am getting a little despondent about Fotki - seems much quieter and a few irritations creeping in.
I have just noticed my AVATAR had disappeared & it is one I like. I have also noticed that in some of my albums that some of images are missing - number count and those displayed do not line up. Unfortunately I don't have the inclination to check all albums and backtrack to match up with original albums - simply too much work.
I hope someone can cheer me up about the future of Fotki.
I feel your pain and have become increasingly annoyed with outages and photos out of sequence. Not to mention the boondoggle with losing storage rights of original photos WHICH I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR! Unfortunately, I am paid for another 10 years. Were it not for that and the many friends I have made on this site I would be looking, actively, for a new, more friendly site. At one time Fotki was THE premier photo site on the web. But it got too big for its britches and no longer serves the clients that made it what it was.
Hi Merlin, thanks for your kind comments on my old shots , actually I haven't been to this site in months and nearly forgot about it being a member of another virtual photo community. Once I liked these pics of mine but now they seem rather weak to me. Anyway , you reminded me of Fotki and I submitted a photo to a digcontest. Good luck Gali
I am in Iceland trying for some wintry photos. Northern lights were very good one night. I want to view your images today or tomorrow when I can access my cputer instead of this iPhone.
I reworked all the albums in bromeliad folders, or create new albums with pictures Tillandsias. So now, all my bromeliads and tillandsias, I photographed from me online. Have fun! Klaus
Well 40C whew!!! Thats cooking but then it is your summer. Darn it, I think I'm a day late with Merry Christmas wishes but I hope you had a very good one. Glad to hear it's cooling down a bit. Enjoy the rest of the holiday cheer!
Actually got to 42C but temperature around Xmas day and upto new year in the late 20s - very pleasant - beautiful clear blue skys. A few years ago we had about 2 weeks of 40+ temperatures - that was wearing. In Adelaide fairly easy to tolerate high temps because it is so dry - just keep in shade, put on evaporative cooling and keep hydrated.
