    Hi, cheeky question from downunder
I've just found a possible family member in the 1851 census as a Boarding Scholar at the address of 33 Bridge Street, Sutton Saint Mary. Could you tell me where exactly it would be?
    Following is the full data
    Registration District: Holbeach
    Sub District: Long Sutton
    EnumerationDistrict: 2A
    Ecclesiastical Parish: Sutton Saint Matthew
    Civil Parish: Sutton Saint Mary
Address: Bridge Street, Sutton Saint Mary
    County: Lincolnshire

And by the way, I love your photos. I drove through the area a number of years ago when I was staying with friends who lived in Spalding. Most of tham have now moved to NZ but there's still one man there.

Sutton St Mary is what is now known as Long Sutton. Bridge Street is the Main Road going through Long Sutton but I have no idea where a boarding school would have been, I will have a look at the numbers of where the only school building is that I know of (and is no longer used) but I wouldn't have thought it big enough for boarding so maybe it is no longer here.
      I will do my best!

Hi Everyone, I am asking for help. My father Vic Craske was born in Sutton Bridge and lived with his brothers and sisters in Chestnut Terrace. They all attended the local school. His father Herbert Samuel manned the signal box at the bridge in the 1920-30's until his retirement. He was also a Lay preacher.
My father was born in the village in 1922 until he signed up for the war. His mother, father and one of his sisters are buried in St Matthews. We visited the village aster Monday to put flowers on the grave. I would love to recieve pictures from any family that may have known him or his family. (Unfortunately) his does not have a computer so I will have to relay anything sent.

    Many thanks
    Neil Craske
