Huge amounts of info, Maarten! Thanks. You should, though, let visitors make comments in more of your albums so that those of us that live in agave country can chime in.

Klyndt

[Thanks. But: you CAN make comments!

Hi I have had Agave arizonica for years with lots of offsets. The mother plant is about to bloom any day. I had this plant growing in the Phoenix AZ area in a pot.
given to me by another Docent at the Desert Botanical Gardens. I moved to Portal AZ (5 miles from New Mexico 50 miles north of Mexico) in June planted it in the ground and after a wet Monsoon season a beautiful flower stalk. nice site david

[Thanks]

Nice collections !
I'm from Thailand, a xerophytic bromeliads lover, collecting Deuterocohnia, Dyckia, Encholirium, Hechtia, Orthophytum and all spiny thing.
Glad to visit your site.

[Hi; also have some Dyckia and Hechtia here in The Netherlands. Succulent ones. Funny: they are outside in summer and seem to thrive very well with lots of rain.
Deuterocohnia is now Abromietiella btw.]

Cervelas! I am inviting all of you home to my beautiful starship USS El-Fluendo. Kinky aliens and thirsty cobowys awaiting all who love this site like I do. Great! Somethimes, when I feel my guts mumbling I stand up and cream: "Yes! Halleluja! We can touch people where they have never touched before. It's like a salami pressed in pure lust: Once you feel dismissed - but candles, which are fat and oily (like all of us) will resurrect and evaporate to regressive coliform bacterias. So, in this respect, keep up the spirits, keep up the good work, keep us the Princess of Nastor, keep up the plugs in the bathtubes BECAUSE WE NEED YOU! WE NEED EVERYTHING - and this is what this site is making unique: Plastic Surgery! Yes! We all are dreaming of lube and soil, pyramids and solar panels BUT: Are you liquid enough? Are you? You really are? So then, welcome to this invitation, welcome to my starship. Think of it! Read it again and again.. make it your mantra. Make it real! Ok, bottomline is in principle: Mexico! This site is beyond us! This site is beyond the site itself! No more Mr Niceguy. I am pregnant. Please, join all!

I invite you all to watch http://maldives.johnvanhulst.nl

This site shows the photos and videos my wife Korrie made during her Scuba Diving stay at the Maldives Islands, November 2006. It's a Dutch language site, but as there is hardly any text, I guess you can find your way around.

The Maldives are located in the Indian Ocean, to the South of India, just above the equator. They are famous for their underwater sea life.

I bought a Fuji F30 for her, of course with an underwater housing :-), just before she left. The F30 got rave reviews everywhere, it's the best compact camera by large margins in it's price class. The video you see on this site was originally shot at 640 * 480, 30 fps with sound (yes, you can hear her talk underwater Dutch -a rare Dutch dialect- sometimes!), the photos are 6.3 megapixel originally.
The home page shows a selection of all photos, presented as a Flash slideshow (you all know I always present it this way... :-)).

Korrie will love it if you sign the Dutch guestbook!

Cheers, John

P.S. Your guess is right:: I made the website...

[Puting mssgs in the guestbook with critics, logging in anonymously, isnt considered as serious here.]

Hi Maarten,

I am very impressed with the collection of Agave pictures you have here. I try to collect the small growing agaves because of my limited space. I am intrigued by the A. potatorum corkscrew? plant. Would you happen to know where I can acquire one?

Thanks.
Pete
