Hi Lloyd! For some reason we had some difficulties of leaving comments at the last contest. Your entry is AMAZING! 10+ Dmitry and Leila.

We get a lot of currents coming up from the Gulf of St.-Lawrence. Once in a while we get hit bad, like in 2003 when we got Hurricane Juan and later that year White Juan (snowstorm). Since then we've barely had a storm worth calling a storm. This yr we got one snowstorm in mid Dec. The snow stayed for about 3 days and that was it. Feb. is supposed to be the coldest month and it did get down to about -17c for a couple of weeks here, but that was it. This last weekend it was +1 to 3c and sunny. Who knows what's going on.
Patches sure tries hard to open that bag LOL. If we want her to come to us, all we have to do is barely touch that bag and zooom she's there LOL. Rich and I had a great time viewing your JJ and Magic video. It was hilarious. That kitten is soooo cute and she/he will keep the other cat young and fit. Either that or the big cat will have it for breakfast one day LOL :).
I'll let Rich answer about the copywrite thing. I don't know anything about it. I know some people watermark their photos to protect them from downloads, but now all people have to do is take a screenshot and they have it. Sad isn't it?

Dear Lloyd
We got about an inch, then we got a thunder and lightning storm, then we got driving hail (small), then we got rain (lots of flash flooding) and by the next afternoon it was sunny and the snow and hail were gone. So far they've all missed us, or just brushed by us. Winter ain't over till it's over LOL.
Lloyd, Thanks for the comments on some of my photos. I started looking at your favorites for 2006, but will have to come back to finish. So many to look at. If you don't mind, I will add you to my friends list. Beth
Just had a quick through your 2007 album, great photos.

Hi,
Photoshop is pretty cool tool. I've been using it since Photoshop 2 or 3.. I forget, it was in the late 80's. :)
It may seem like there are a lot of tools and techniques to learn, but its not that bad. Take a few test photos and make copies, then have fun. Try all the effects to see what they can do. There are some great tutorials online, there are also a few books that are good.
I liked creating different fonts and lettering styles at the time. I mostly do photo repair now. The contest has opened up my creative side with the tool. The plugins to Photoshop can get expensive. Sad thing is, most of these plugins can be done by hand once you know the steps, but it requires time to learn. :) hehe something a lot of people don't have patience for.
:)
have fun - if you have any questions just send me a note.
After the storm is a wonderful album. Some of the pictures showed that it was still windy. We had a storm here some weeks ago and it´s just wonderful to experience the Nature that way too. Even if one aught to be inside, for the safety.
All the best with warm regards from an enough cold country;
Congrats on second place Lloyd! Love the newest batch of pics....winter is definetely a beautiful time of year in Maine, thank you for sharing that beauty with us through your pictures.
I hope I'll have the time, one of these days, to visit your beautiful work, from which I only got a nice general ideia today. My camera is a modest Ricoh Caplio R3. I intend, in a not far future, to buy a better one. It's a nice camera, easy to use, but... I love birds, and the zoom is very limited:) Best regards, Rosa
I have viewed one of your winteralbum and will come back with some comments later. A bit short of time now.
I have white winter here now. Not so cold, Between +-0 down to -15c. Today it´s zero next week will be cold again. What I ment by living in a similar place is living by a large lake, with a little lighthouse, that wintertime is quiet and beautiful and summertime is crowded with visitours/tourists and very alive.
Big warm congratulations to the great result in the contest.
May you have a wonderful weekend
Warm regards from Sweden; Anne-Marie
