I freakin' LOVE your locks so I had to come back on your page and check them out again. I chopped it all off and I'm currently in the process of growing back my hair but your locks really do inspirie me to attempt to plunge into sisterlocks. I've been debating this for about three years now but I'm still not sure. Anyway, hope everything is going well with you sis. Happy Growing!!!

LOL Oh yeah I have seen these pics already!!! I am a fanatic over your pics! Seriously! But yeah I guess having thick hair save us from alot of the parts showing but at the same time it does look good and fresh as you said. I'm just a little nervous about the whole process is all. But I will make sure I let you know when the pics are posted. Monday is the big day and possibly Tuesday too! She said it would be probably about 16 hours! Good Lord! Oh and by the way...you have a cute girlfriend and I love her locs also! They are very long! One Love...
why are so many black women on fotki so hypnotised by the mirror? **********************************************************************************
Well as a black woman who is NOT hypnotised by the mirror but by her birthright beauty, I may be able to answer. What you may be mistaking as hypnotised is actually an expression of self love that we have for so long not had. What we are showing or celebrating is the fact that we do not need to conform to the whitewashed standard that we must have straight hair and pale skin and blue eyes to be beautiful. We have had that engrained in us for so long that it is hard to shake that myth off. So what you see in these albums are expressions of beauty. They are exclamations actually. I am happily showing my other black nappy headed beautiful sisters that they to are lovely with the hair that they were born with. I am documenting my journey so that they can have something to refer to in case they feel unloved and unrepresented or neglected by the standard of beauty that we are bombarded with everyday in the media. They have a little space on the internet that they can look at other women who look like them...from the curl in thier hair to the spread of thier noses to the thickness of thier lips and say she is beautiful, therefore I am as well!!! So to answer your question, hypnotised by the mirror we are not. But hypnotised by what we were blessed with at birth, we FINALLY are!!! Its about time! Thanks for coming by my page. Bless, Charm

I have Sisterlocks which are much smaller than traditional locks and should not be twisted. Because of the size, the rootbed could not support twisting.
I REALLY want to say thank you for ALL the pictures you have posted. This may be a hobby for you, but u have NO idea how much you are helping girls like me who are thinking about locks! I recently decided to go natural (its been three months since my last perm) and am excited about the whole process. Ever since discovering sisterlocks, have been debating if I want to get them right away or let my hair grow out natural completely to play with twistouts, braid outs, color, etc. But I think I'm goin to let it grow out natural to play with all the different styles with natural hair and once I get tired of that get the sisterlocks.
