  Hi Mike
Thanks for the link to the wedding photos...... you did a wonderful job there....... I looked at the albums in slide format, but went back and left some comments, could have been here all day but have to meet the children now. Bob is laughing at me...... but I always cry at weddings. A beautiful young couple, and a wonderful day.
Thanks for letting me share it in a small way.

  Hi Mike,

It looks you might have to create a playlist and put it in there, but it looks like it would have to be in a journal as opposed to directly attached to the photo, worse luck. Gary is the man for these matters but he's busier than ever these days.

Hi!

I have lately received to my email comments from friends commenting other people's photos just like you now commented a photo on Heike Loechel's album:-) I wonder where Fotki is going:-)

Regards from Finland,
Merike

I have noticed the same thing Merike. Perhaps Fotki is trying to "network" all individuals who make comments. I don not think that is necessary.

G/day Mike, we rather like the old cars but as you know there a lot safer these days,,,them old V8 and 6 tanks took some stopping. the sports car is a TF mg we still have a soft for them. I like the picture of the guy tunning the race car by ear,my first car had twin su's cabys it was a better way to tune them than some hand books told how it should be done,,,,ha ha yes that steering wheel can never work out how you guys got it so wrong ...this picture like my first car,,,took me some time how not to blow the gear box up and rear axle,,,,dont use first gear ,,,Regards Roy and Bev http://public.fotki.com/brhtwo/cars-of-all-types/0018.html Will check that web site later,,,,,

Good morning Mike
Thanks for your visit; I have replied to your comments. I very much like your tiger cub picture in the competition, also the other one, and am surprised that neither of them are higher up the scale in the competition. It is better just to consider it a gallery to show, rather than a real competition, as the voting is so weird.
Have a good day.

Thank you Mike!

I appreciate you taking time to annoy ME and I am glad you experience some joyful minutes browsing my albums. :-)
And always amazed how you know that what I always thought was a wasp is just some fly even if it is a FLOWER one! :-D

Thank you a lot!

Hey, Mike. I uploaded the tiger cub photo to my albums - have a look. Can you tell if it's Tula or Nuri? http://public.fotki.com/Beausoleil-Photography/animals/tigers/siberian-tiger-cub.html

I got several more portraits of Stella (the jaguar). She was posing again so beautifully and I couldn't resist her. The crowds were over by the tigers, so I had a clear window to Stella. Woot woot!

Been to the woods for a short walk...very wet and loads of fungi!
It is a good year...hard to get sometimes as it has been raining a lot and everything is so muddy and thick layers of orange leaves making it hard for the mush to grow through.
Have a look if you like...I also have some other new stuff that you might enjoy...
Hope your tooth is fine now...gone I mean! :)

Hi Mike,
I have gone back to work, so I havent been around fotki much. I was here today and checking out the contest stuff and saw the pic of you and Vinnie as a pup and then I realized you were talking of him in the present, so I came to your pages and read of his passing in last year, and I just wanted to leave you a little note to tell you how sad I am for you. I know it is so very hard to loose a pet, as devoted and true as Vinnie was.

Hope you have a great week.
Brenda
***I gave your entry a 10 btw = )

Thanks Brenda. It will be a year in three weeks since he's gone. I still think of him every day...it's so hard, but I'm thankful that I got to be with him for nearly 14 years.

Mike!
Just got "off the road" with one of my bands - "fondue blond" bunch of older guys that were kinda famous "back in the day"...

playing classic rock, and just having a blast with these guys. all the music i grew up with... everything from "Some kind of wonderful" and "brown eyed girl" to "pink houses" and "sweet home alabama"

The latest tour was thru the "inner banks" in North Carolina... which is slightly less famous than the "outer banks" Very rural part of NC, but very enjoyable - huge cotton fields (i never saw except photos, until now). Tobacco Barns, Great BBQ places... road stands of just a pick-up and a big metal grill - selling steamed oysters and some have a whole pig on it - for a road side pig roast BBQ so to speak. What a cultural difference from DC. And what a great time..... THIS is why i got into music in the first place.

Anyway - just getting home now and settled in... i will check out the links to the new photos in a bit - you know i cant wait - track photos - and civil war photos.... : )

oh - btw - civil war in the south - wow. still very fresh to them. still a huge thing. sings that say the south will rise again, and signs in windows of restaurants that read "Conferedate parking only - all others go back north"... and this is not meant to be of humor. wow. i have been "educated" and had a wonderful time. there is something to be said about southern hospitality, it really does exist. totally different world. some of the nicest people...cant wait for the next time we tour thru there again.

anyway - talk soon - was great to hear from you,
stephen / duce

Hi Mike! Thanks for stopping by. Your Zoo and Civil War albums are great! Soft back ground and lighting are just perfect! Yes, you’re right. That soft light fills objects nicely without giving hard shadows. But your car race pictures are awesome as well, even though they have been shot around noon. Fast shooter speed works just fine on them. I’ve got 72mm Hoya and Nikon circular polarized filters, as well as Sing Ray 9 points ND. If this size fits to your glass I’ll be more then happy to let you use it.
PS. Mike are you using one of the versions of Photoshop for post processing your images?
======================
Hi Dmitry.....thanks for the comments. About the filters......the 300mm Nikkor uses "drop-in" filters (52mm) behind the front glass. Screw-on filters are not applicable for this lens (front element is way too big). We're talking several hundred dollars for a drop-in circular polarizer. It will have to wait for a while. But thanks for offering.....you're a good friend. I DO use Photoshop CS4 for post-processing. I shoot almost always in RAW and that allows me lots of options in post-processing. As a matter of fact, when this message came in, I was working on creating an Action for embedding my watermark and copyright info. I've screwed it up twice by watching the World Series as I worked and not paying strict attention to details. I'll try it again in a minute. If you'd like to try some racing photo work at Road America, I'm pretty sure I can get you a photo pass...at least for some of the less popular races. The "big-time" races usually have more photographers than race drivers and my boss is less likely to allow me to bring a friend. I especially like the Vintage races....lots of old-time cars; I love to see those old boys still out there getting it done. Let me know in the spring if you're interested....maybe we can work it out.

Mike
