I was so sad when I learned about the deaths of Rev. David Hawkins and Rev. Clifton Johnston. They were both one of a kind. I thought a lot of both and miss both.

Looking at the mission pictures, reminded me of the Mountain Top Mission trip that I participated in several years ago. Rev. Johnston and Ms. Anita would always bring us lunch while we were working on the house. Thinking about this brings back good memories.

Yesterday, I was sad to hear of the death of my former 5th grade teacher, Mr. Eledge. He was a wonderful person that taught me so much.

I just learned of the death of David Hawkins and was devastated by it. I attended church in the early 1980s at Westview UMC where I was baptized by David. He was the best thing that ever happened to us and he will be missed. I wish I could have known about it when it happened. He was truly an inspiration to all who new him.
