There are nice photos in your albums. I like many of them. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the comment. Just ask yourself, where were your family before the 1930th? Did they have access to a camera or a professional photographer?
The photo you commented on must have been taken around 1900, I do not know whether there's a year on it, but I make an intelligent guess from the looks of my grandfather (middle). Now his family was not rich, but well to do and they did go to photographers to have their pictures taken, and evidently bought cameras themselves, albeit cheap ones, when they became readily available. My cousin sorted out and scanned and e-mailed the (so noted) photos from the bequest of her mother who died a couple of years ago. The others I got from my mother, more or less in a box, unsorted, unnamed and undated. It took some work to make the pictures visible in some cases. It did help that I am over sixty, and have met some of the persons alive. Another help was a hobby genealogist and retired teacher (now deceased) who did research on his wife's relatives. They were also my father's and as he published his findings 1956, my parents bought a copy of the book.
Thanks for your kind comments Igor. I look forward to seeing more pics in your folders. Hope your Mum and neice are being looked after here in England. Rob
