I invite you all to watch http://maldives.johnvanhulst.nl

This site shows the photos and videos my wife Korrie made during her Scuba Diving stay at the Maldives Islands, November 2006. It's a Dutch language site, but as there is hardly any text, I guess you can find your way around.

The Maldives are located in the Indian Ocean, to the South of India, just above the equator. They are famous for their underwater sea life.

I bought a Fuji F30 for her, of course with an underwater housing :-), just before she left. The F30 got rave reviews everywhere, it's the best compact camera by large margins in it's price class. The video you see on this site was originally shot at 640 * 480, 30 fps with sound (yes, you can hear her talk underwater Dutch -a rare Dutch dialect- sometimes!), the photos are 6.3 megapixel originally.
The home page shows a selection of all photos, presented as a Flash slideshow (you all know I always present it this way... :-)).

Korrie will love it if you sign the Dutch guestbook!

    Cheers, John

P.S. Your guess is right:: I made the website...

You want to colorize a B&W photo with Photoshop? Rich Bruton http://members.fotki.com/RichBruton/about suggests a method to go from B&W to color. He uses PHOTOSHOP (instead of me, I use Paint Shop Pro) to demonstrate what he means. Find out here: http://public.fotki.com/johnvanhulst/photoshop-BWtocolor/
    Thanks, Rich, for this cooperation!
If you want to know how I did it with PSP 7: http://public.fotki.com/johnvanhulst/from-a-black-white/

If you have a suggestion for another course: let me know! I'll compile your wishes and sort out a highest common factor. I'm sure Rich is happy to co-write once again!

    Hi all of you,

A long time ago I promised to explain how to colorize a B&W photo. Regina ( http://public.fotki.com/imrs1 ) recently saw that I colored a B&W Lantia photo and asked if I could explain how this was done. So, finally...
Go to http://public.fotki.com/JohnVanHulst/from-a-black-white/ for the first lesson.

    Cheers, John

If you are traveling frequently, staying in a hotel where you can feel at home is usually the best part of all. As such, it is best to find a comfortable and relaxing accommodation whenever you travel. In Vienna Austria, for instance, you will be rest assured of a grand and relaxing stay at renowned Hotel Astoria.

An excellent hotel that holds the tradition and charm of Viennese, Hotel Astoria is located at the famous “Karntner Strabe”, READ FULL ARTICLE HERE http://www.exploring-austria.com/2006/07/10/grand-accommodation-at-hotel-astoria/
