Hey Juhani,
I love your site and hope you get get better real soon. Concerning onion sacks,as you know it takes the Morel 4 to 5 years after the spore germinates to produce another morel. I personally think the answer lies with harvest regulation. I usually find alot of morels, but I only pick a few. Until mankind learns that the world is not there for the taking, but rather a fragile living thing that needs our protection and care. I am afraid extinction of plants, animals, fungi and even our own species ultimately will occur.

i just found this site and think i will enjoy it. i am in mid-michigan and have hunted mushrooms since i could walk. it is getting so much harder to find them because of people that do not know to use mesh bags so that spores fall thru and replant to grow again. we have to pass this along to all hunters so we dont make them extinct. will let you know how my season goes. good luck to all!

Hi there!

I liked your photos!! Mushrooms are a new hobby for me - I am really hooked and am looking to get a digital camera to save all this mess I keep bringing home. The English are real fungiphobes and I am getting well known as 'that eccentric mushroom lady'. Still I have the advantage of a fascinating world that they are all the poorer for missing out on. Keep up the good work and if you could give me any advice about buying a camera I'd be really appreciative.
