I just finished viewing your monochrome II album. I don't know enough about photography to have a clue as to what you mean by R72 style but I know enough about what I enjoy to know I like it :-) Thanks for sharing. Don - - - R72 is near-infrared filter at 720nm. Umm, anyway, it's "fake" near infrared images, converted through software. Glad you liked them, thank you kindly.
I really like your Puerto Rico album - especially the night shots - was wondering about exposure lengths on many of them because no details are shown? - - Sorry, I normally don't share full EXIF data, except in few albums. Exposure lengths varied depending on light, 5-120 seconds. In night photography exposure is a really subjective manual setting.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! We've seen on the TV the celebrations in Sydney and at various European venues. In less than four hours it will be our turn in the Glen. No champagne for me. I think champagne is overrated. "It's perfume going in and sewage coming out," (I heard that line in a movie). I believe I'll have a root beer to celebrate....or some Gatorade.
Hello. Came across your site from the main "random photo's" page, and stopped to browse your monochrome albums. They are very impressive. With your permission I will add you to my 'friends' list so that I can return and browse further. Peter
I came back again to revisit your macro album. I continue to be impressed. You were wondering about some of your subjects and I have identified a few for you. Hope you don't mind. You were kind enough in the past to share your knowledge concerning techniques for this kind of photography and I have learned much from you. But it's apparent that I have a way to go to be in your league. I have upgraded the D-100 to a D2x (kept the D-100 for backup) and I'm finding that it is a fantastic camera. I will concentrate a bit more on micro stuff this next summer. Right now most of our insects are under a foot or more of snow. Thanks again for being a great role model and for being so willing to share your expertise.
Here's wishing you much joy and happiness during this holiday season, and all the best in 2006! Looking forward to another year of photography here with you. :-D
