Well...actually straightening your hair is actually healthy for hair...when your hair is in its natural state it can actually break off more...think about it...braiding your hair around the edges can cause your hairline to recede and since you are pulling the hair...thas not good either....when your hair is straight...it wont clamp onto other hairs...you are not constantly doin stuff to it....but wrapping it...thas what i was doing to my hair...i dont kno why people afraid of putting heat in their hair...its actually a good thing...its was of the easiest ways to grow the hair out...now...TOO much heat just aint good...like in the summer time...i dont straighten my hair....i leave it as is because it wont stay straight with all the moisture anyway...in the winter...i keep it straight because its the best time to try and grow it out for me...no moisture in the air...and i dont sweat in the winter which also means i can wrap my hair and take it down without sweatin it out....but idk people are different...i go to this dominican salon in philly and my hair dresser specializes in hair growth...she uses nothing BUT natural products on my hair and every time i go it gets straightend...i only go once every two weeks...so im only getting my hair straighten twice every month...which means not a lot of heat is being put in my hair....i swear it really doesnt damage my hair....and not to mention on top of that...i get my ends clipped when needed...not every 4-6 weeks cause if you clip your ends when they don't need to be clipped then your hair will get messed up and it wont grow....then...i was gettin a deep conditioner every so often but...trust me...i could care less about people askin me...as long as mine was in check...
