Hello! I just went through your new album about Heather. Such a beautiful model you had the chance to work with again. I like your style of portraits very much. And I hope you don't mind I gave it some critical comments: it's nothing than my very personal opinion. Keep on shooting, my Friend! Mike (Zurich, Switzerland)
i try not to photoshop any pics at all, it forces me to try and get the shots as perfect as possible in the camera. but i can really appreciate your talent and taking the time to spell out the process. :) *********************
I respect photography and since I am not the one who takes great photos I appreciate talent of others. But I think you misunderstand and underestimate the real capability photoshop gives. If you learn photoshop it does not mean you do not care about taking perfect pictures in the first place. Just the opposite - as you go further in learning curve you start appreciating quality photographs as it gives you more flexibility in your creativity. Photoshop is not a "fixing" tool but the opportunity to take your creativity further and get your images to the next level. I have not seen even ONE picture out there in the "high-end" world which would not go through PS no matter how perfectly it was shot and how professional was the photographer.
When you buy a perfect piece of meat you still cook it because it is great but still RAW. And you still add some sauce in the end. And when you buy your Maker's Mark you still put ice in your glass before drinking because it tastes greater with ice.
I like your photos and my the very favorite of yours is the shoot with Brittany ( if I spell her name right). You do work hard on your skills. But you can not deny that you can take absolutely ANY of your pictures and add some photoshop magic and if you are good at it - no one will ever suspect PS was involved unless of course you put "before&after" in front of their noses. NOT because you are a bad photographer but because this is the way it is. Fair amount of professionally applied photoshop can never ruin a picture but then we are talking about photoshop as it is intended to be - friendly and helpful and not unskillfully used. Just like with photography - you do not say that photography is inappropriate way to show the beauty of this life just because you saw lots of badly taken pictures. No, you still know that there are great images out there taken by skilled photographers and they are beautiful..
Hello - just had another look at your pictures - there are some great pictures here - very natural and not over-posed - would love to see some more if possible. Thanks
Amy is darling! My computer won't let me leave comments, fotki says my cookies aren't turned on. When I get that figured out I'll be back to leave comments.
My best wishes for Christmas for you and your beloved ones.
Jose
