    Hi Bob, I have just gotten a 317 with a broken rod. I have enjoyed your pictures of your tear-down and rebuild. I have started taking the tractor apart yesterday. thanks again for sharing your work.

    Having to repair my John Deere 49 snow thower. I ran across your site trying to get information for a tear down of the drive axle and sprocket assembly. Your info and photos were very helpful.  Thank you for your fine work and for sharing this info for us novices.  Thanks Brian

      I too am a novice.I just take pic's of everything. And when I am able to accomplish the task at hand I pick the pic's that show how I did it. Thanks for the kind comments.

    Hey - found your JD 317 pics through a Google search. I just bought that exact tractor about 3 weeks ago. What an inspiration seeing your incredibly detailed work... that rocks!! Mine will never look that good, but thanks for sharing your talents!

      Ya, it was fun putting "Toasty" back together. Learned a lot and with the pic's I was able to help others as well.
