Dear Andy,
Congratulations on your splendid photo in the Feathered Friends contest. I gave it a 10.
I left a message with laforge regarding his Screaming Eagle.
I feel only a sense of outrage that the contest organisers saw fit to move the goalposts part-way though the contest (excuse me if I am incorrect in that assumption) by deciding to work on averages. Had people known that in advance it might well have affected the way they voted. It might not have changed the outcome, except that you would have rejoiced in being the out-and-out winner. I feel you have been robbed of that. And what can laforge say without looking like a sore loser? BTW - maybe I'd have scattered 1's all over the place elsewhere had I known averages were being played with. How fair is that? But it's possible now to affect the results that way if they stick with this averages idea.
Don't often get on my soap-box these days, but this one really got to me.
Smiling through gritted teeth at the moment,
Snow

Delighted to be on your friends list. Thanks for that. Feeling better now having blasted out some Led Zeppelin..ha
BTW, my entry was the fluffly little cynets, but nowhere near as good as yours.
Hi Andy, CONGRATULATIONS on your win, what a fantastic shot, a wonderfully executed photo....and the subjects were beyond adorable. You captured cuteness in an artistic way and it's so nice to see you get the recognition your work deserves. :-) Joanna
Hey Andy, great result (and well deserved!) with your Mallard ducklings. Congratulations! I didn't know the result would be determined by average scores, but it seems fair to me! Jeff

Great finish on in the “feathered friends” contest, Andy. I really loved your colors, and the crispness in the blades of grass.
Interesting that the finish is determined by average and not points. That’s probably fair in that it factors out the random nature of the original photo placement.
The hummingbird in third place still looks unreal to me – like it might be a sculpture. But if there’s one thing I know less about than photography, it’s birds.
Hi Andy! I just came to ask you, how you managed it to be first, although the eagle has more points, (thought you have kissed the ladies from the selection committee) but now I read what you wrote. I never knew that! And I think it is really fair, because I always thought yours the best! :) My biiig felicitation, my dear friend! Love and hugs Tina

Hi Andy... well you did it again!!! Congratulations for the great victory in the Birds contest!! But you have to stop sending such beautiful photos to the contests, otherwise the rest of us won't have a chance :)))... Just kidding my friend! I'm very happy for you!! I always thought you were a serious candidate to the first 3 places. Once again, my congrats and good luck to you in the on going contests. Hugs, Marina
Thanks so much for the congrats everyone! I think the screaming eagle deserves more though, it had more points than me. I didn't know it was scored on average marks, the poor person with that shot must be very disappointed. I'd love it if you would all congratulate him too. Thanks again, Andy.
