Great shots of Denali. I was stationed in Fairbanks a long time ago and hope to get back to Alaska in another year or two. BTW, I was just in Evansville a few weeks ago. I taught a tax seminar at the Marriott near the airport. Nice town and very nice folks there.

Gidday Al,

I hope you're enjoying Christmas Day. Boxing Day over here, I'm watching the cricket on telly and playing with fotki at the same time!

If you have the time, you're welcome to come over to our place for Christmas as long as you promise not to laugh at our humble cooking,. Viviane was very kind!

I know how unreal these moutnains can look, I admire them every day. And of course I believe you about very little PH in that picture. I did not mean to offend you in any way. And yet, there is something about the colors and texture of the mountains that doesn't quite look real. They look almost like drawing and not a photograph.
Again, I apologize if my comment made you upset in any way. Your work is brilliant. Did you go anywhere else in Alaska?

Hi Al,
I am glad the card arrived and that you will have something to wear this Christmas! :)
Yes, the card features our little Amy, she is a Syrian hamster and we rescued her from a pet shop where she had to wait to be sold ( in a glass container she sat...very sad!) These little creatures need to play and run and climb so we felt so sorry for her that we decided to have her and spoil her with a beautiful big vage and lots of toys and premium food! LOL!
Your card arrived yesterday! I must say it is the prettiest I recieved so far...wow Alaska! It is a magnificent photo of a great landscape.
I have not been very often on Fotki, not as often as I used to but I am going to try and change that next year!
All the best once more and enjoy the New Years eve champagne!

Amateur : The word comes from French, and can be translated as "lover of", reflecting the amateur's motivation to work as a result of a love or passion for a particular activity.
******************************

I see your "love and passion" in the images you take.. and thank you for your replies to my questions.

My dear sir, I am not often humbled by the images of others here on Fotki, and to be honest wildlife and landscapes are not my most frequented images or favored style, but I do know beauty when I see it, and I can see when a master (and I do not use that term lightly) has captured it. Your work is incredible. I would love to learn from you. After seeing your Alaska images, I went immediately to a Fotki friend who lives there to show her your album. I know she will be as impressed as I.

Thank YOU for sharing what you have done with the rest of us. I do not understand why I have not come across your images prior to today. If you don't mind, I have made you a Fotki friend, and plan to visit again..and soon.

Regards,
Dan
