Hi Al, Thanks for visiting! Yes, I bought a 500D and a conversion lens adapter for the Pro1. I now can magnify a subject 1.0ft away from the tip of the lens more than by using the macro mode of the camera. Great for insects. In the camera's menu you select the right converter and the lens will automatically be moved and fixed automatically at the right point. But it is pretty different from what I am used to so I have to learn how to work with it. But it is fun. The 500D itself can be fixed to the camera too but that is not recommended by Canon...I have no idea why though. I read good revieuws about the 500D so I went for it. I hope that was a good decision! regards, Viviane
Hi Al, thanks for visiting! My new lens arrived yesterday and I have been practicing...hard to focus as it is works completely different as what I am used to. Hello, my compliments for your nice photos! Please come see my photos sometimes? Best regards, Tom from The Netherlands.
Hi Al, I have no words for your new shots...except that they are simply beautiful! Thanks for sharing, I had a lovely time enjoying them! I am indeed getting a bit used to the camera but as always very insecure about my ork...It is hard for me to decide what's good and what is not.Sounds stupid, but I mean...how to improve things when you don't know the limits of the camera and for that what to be able to do. But I am practicing a lot and get help from Mike and other friends...I am very lucky! regards, Viviane
Viviane,
Don't worry about what is good or bad. You either like it or don't like it. Helps to get other views though because sometimes we miss things or get in a rut.
Thanks for your comment in my guestbook! I am more confident now...when it is good enough for you (sometimes!;) it is certainly good enough for me!!! Thanks!
Hi Al, I enjoyed your latest pictures a lot! Ordered a new camera yesterday...decided on not buying a DSRL as they are too heavy for me with my handicap so I thought the Canon Pro1 might be a good second best... Looking forward to trying it out!
