Hi Alan Really nice to hear from you. I am glad that your move to the country has been so successful. People always say they are more busy in the country than in the town as there is so much going on and you get to know people much better than in the city. Enjoy.
Will come back and see your photos when I have a bit more time. (I have a busy life too).
Finally Spring! Art In Bloom is an annual event at Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. 70 works of art, chosen by the curators and guides, are assigned to garden clubs around New England. The garden clubs then design a floral arrangement as an interpretation of the assigned object. There is then a week of guided tours which take you each of the art/floral pairs and explain the materials and flowers and thought which went into the garden clubs' interpretations of the various paintings, sculptures , furniture etc. A bit difficult to photograph in low light with a no-flash rule but.... here it is. There are also some random museum photos....such a great subject. http://public.fotki.com/JoMill/art-in-bloom-2007/ Joel

Hello Alan,
I have just had another quick peek at your Timberland album. The photos are lovely. Would it be possible to somehow identify the most recent ones from thumbnails somehow? I got a little bit lost with what had been happening when. Not that it matters, it just would be quicker as, like everyone else, I'm always under a lot of time pressure and to see up-to-date phots grouped somehow would be easier for me.....but that's just me! We all have our own ways.
Looking forward to seeing some photos of the village St George's day Show. Love that sort of thing.
How are you coping with this strange warm spring? Already the water in the butt has been just about used up and soon the hose will have to be used to top up the garden pond. I am still finding things to put in my April album and I'm sure by this time next year I'll enjoy looking back on it. I'm not sure what I'll find to photograph in May as I really don't have a liking for watering particularly since every drop of water we use is metered, so I have paused before rushing out to buy plants for this season. Perhaps I'll take to photographing more things outside the home during May. Have a lovely weekend.
Hi Alan, I think that is a lovely idea! and yes, I will post some pictures every nowand then but I cannot promise I can post them on a regular basis...I have quite a few projects going on lately and my health is not very good so our garden is not very special anymore. It used to be really nice, I made the layout myself 30 years ago and now the trees are way too big for the size of the garden but I just cannot let them be removed. I used to love working in my garden, planted everything with our own hands but now being ill a lot it is hard for my husband to keep up. I made a planting scheme with colours and seasons that the plants were flowering so there was always something to see ...I had all sorts of foliage etc...now there is a lot of shade and the government decided to lower the water level (we are in a polder...) so it is not easy to keep the garden nice.We don;t have grass anymore as it was not nice with too much shade and mosses anyway... But I will post some soon! I will let you know! Here you can see older ones I took last year and the year before with my old camera! http://public.fotki.com/viviane/canon_powershot_pro1/pro1-_my_house_gard/

Hi Alan,
I was visiting Vivian's guest book and saw your comment about new life stirring in your garden. I have just started an album about my little world in the South of England, in April 2007, and was thinking it would be lovely to see how things are all over the world in April, then in May, and so on.
Most people I have contacted don't have the time, at least not to do it every month, but I just thought if it's all right with you I would add you to my list of friends so I can return and look through some more of your albums, and leave you with the thought that I at least would be very interested to see what's going on in your part of the world this month.
Snow ~~~~~ Thanks for the invitation, Alan. I've just meandered through the April album. What a lovely setting you live in. I'll look forward to watching it change over the seasons. ~~~~~
Hi Alan, we are really having great weather now and my 25 years old Ribes sanguineum is in full bloom...it is always a treat for me! it smells gorgeous too....thought you might enjoy seeing it? it is only a fraction as it is over 2 metres high and wide.... http://public.fotki.com/viviane/canon_eos_350d/bits_and_bobs/my_home/garden013.html
I just replied to your message in the forum concerning proposals to police the right of photographers. It's pretty scarey stuff that is going on in your beautyful country and it looks like other countries will follow the bad example. It's a shifting of rights away from the people and to the government.
and a very happy easter to you too Alan. Tried to access the website you included {egg etc..} but was told 'this account has been suspended'.....did you know this ? Cheers Lyn
