I just happen to stumble across these photos. andI must say WOW. Being a builder of vintage race models since my youth. I feel like I've died and gone to heaven. keep it up. and Many thanks Bill
Great site! All of us funny car veterans should be glad that others are keeping the origins of funny car racing alive.Your collection of Cougar funny cars is great, but it would be better if mine was included.I might not be the best known, but mine was unique, and[arguably] the first. That is easy to fix.Just E-mail me,and i will be happy to share. Jeff Foulk "The Finagler"
i am wanting to restore a 1964 a/fx galaxie purported to have been originally built by Bud Moore. finding vintage photos of this beast seams impossible. Have you any suggestions where to find help on this. Thanks pete
YOU HAVE A PICTURE OF A WHITE DODGE CAR HAULER WITH A RED AND BLACK 56 PLYMOUTH ON IT. THAT DODGE IS A 70 DODGE 300 AND WAS ORDERED IN AS A TOW TRUCK AND THE MAN REFUSED IT AT THE DEALERSHIP. IT WAS THEN BOUGHT AND BED ADDED BY EDDIE SMITH OF THE WEST VIRGINIA HEMI FAME. RAY CHRISTIAN BOUGHT IT IN 1971 AND HAULED HIS HEMI CUDAS AND RO PLYMOUTHS ON IT. IN 92 IT WAS BOUGHT BY LARRY AUGENSTEIN / DANGER BROTHERS RACING TEAM. THEY HAULED THEIR TEAMS VARIOUS 68 HEMI CUDAS AND THEIR 63 DODGE ALUMINUM CAR UNTIL 2004. SOLD TO CHARLIE BLANKENSHIP WHO SOLD IT ON EBAY TO A MAN IN MICH. AND HE DROVE IT HOME IN 2005. THERE WERE 17 MOPAR HEADS WORKING ON THAT TRUCK IN THEIR SPARE TIME FOR 6 WEEKS IN EARLY 92 TO BRING IT TO THE POINT OF SOME WHAT OF IT'S LOOKS TODAY. THE CIRCLE ON THE REAR DOOR SAYS "CENTRAL OHIO EARLY CHRYSLER PRODUCTS OWNERS" IN WHICH AUGENSTEIN IS THE PRESIDENT OF EVEN TODAY.
Vince: I stumbled across your photos as I was searching for old ramp truck race car haulers and am very impressd with what I found. I intend to build a 1/43rd scale version and wondered if any of these pics are for sale or can be had in a larger format? Regards, Bill.
Hey Vince- I was looking at yout '56 Chevy Gasser (in progress pics) and those really cool buggy spring perch/cross bars caught my eye- the fabbed ones with the dimple holes in them. Any lead on who made them and how I might get a pair? I'm also interested in using something like this as motor mounts on my wild & wacky gasser project. please pass along any info. *or anyone reading this post :)
I am interested in old racecar haulers. My focus is the SCCA Trans-Am and NASCAR stuff from the mid-1960's through the Mid 1970's. I have a few photos I can share. I would like to see any photos for anyone who might help me.
I want to find the 1967 Ford 350 ramp truck that Bud Moore used for the Cougar T/A cars and the Cougar & Comet NASCAR cars. It was used through the 1970 Trans-Am season. It was white.
Also I want info on the 1970 Chevrolet Ramp truck that was used by Jim Hall of Chaparral Cars for his 1970 Trans-Am and Can-Am programs. One of these was later used by Carl Haas for the Can-Am team.
I have the 1966 Bud Moore Comet Cyclone NASCAR Darlington 1966 Southern 500 winning racecar under restoration.
Vince, I am restoring Eddie Schartmans 68 Air Lift Rattler and I am in need of pictures. You have some great ones posted any way to get copies? Thanks.

He was as very funny man and a blast to be round. So far i have found and am in contact with one of the owners of his wheelstanders and trying to get in contact with one more that is up and running maybe even two as of this year! So please contact me if you have time! Thanks so much
What a great collection of photos! My brother and I raced a gasser in the mid to late 1960's so your collection is a real treat. I would like to purchase some copies of a few of the photos. Can you pls let me know how to do that? I really want some of Kelly Chadwick, CKC Racing, Roger Caster and others for my den. All those guys raced at the same time we did. Thanks! Steve
