I am, Susan Chakrian Wicklund, one of george Chakrian daughter's. George was one of the 3 owners of Parkmoor Drive in resturants. Thank you for posting the many photos that you have taken of Parkmoor. My father put his heart in soul into the restaurants he helped make them grow from being a few stores to many. He created recipes ,managed and financed the operation for many years. You have several photos of him in the Parkmoor slides and one of my mom driving to the pickup window. She is 95 now and back in Ohio but now in Cincinnati with me. We have many memories and other items about Parkmoor. It is nice that you are sharing memories of the business with its loyal followers.
Hi Rollie/Folks. My son just discovered your wonderful site and showed it to me last night. I am a survivor of Flight 128 and was the only person taken to Booth who survived. I was treated like a queen during those 6 weeks but had to return to Dallas, TX and begin a new life. My husband of not quite 2 years died as a result of the crash and oddly enough he was buried in Pittsburgh on our second anniversary. I remember nothing of the crash and that bothered me for many years, like a part of my life is missing. Delta Airlines lost a plane at DFW in 8/1985 and I would drive down to the field and just look at the tail. I also had the pleasure of meeting a flight attendant on the plane in Dallas, Sheila Swainbank. This was in 1973. My MD, who delivered my son, also delivered her son. I also met Toni Ketchell in 1985. I guess I will always be looking for some one who remembers me. Thanks for all you have done. Junie Miller Murphy Smith
Dec 6,2011--On Nov. 8, 1965 I was a Franciscan Brother in Cinn. Ohio-. At 7:00 that evening the boys{ pre-delingquent ages 8-15} were settling to a movie. I stepped outside to have a cigarette. It was a misty ,light rain-foggy--I heard a loud engine sound and looked up to see a 727 just miss our chapel steeple. The lights were on and I could see people-a stewardess was leaning on a seat talking--If i had a rock i could have hit it--The shades were all up and a boy with glasses was pressed against the window-I often wodered if he saw me. I beleive I was the last one to see people alive- the plane was making a turn over houses and stayed low until it was too dark to see.I often wonder about that boy looking out-I am now living on Cape Cod, mass .married 38 trs-3 grown children. e-mail mailto:petera61@gmail.com my name is Pete Daley
Hi Darlene Brown here. Used to live on Delmar just up the block from you. We are planning our 45th class reunion (class of '67) and I got to looking at your photos...and...I'm just thinking out loud here - without talking to the rest of the committee...but do you ever do photo displays for Class Reunions? You have such great photos of Wilbur Wright...I thought maybe we could have you do a display for the reunion and maybe take orders for any of the photos...or at least give folks a card so they could order. Or maybe...we could do a slide show of your photos. As I said, I'm just thinking out loud here and the "group" may not be in favor...but I think folks would love to see the old and "new" photos of the new school. Just a thought. Darlene Brown
I found this site from "I grew up in Dayton, Ohio..." Saw your last name--your father took my high school graduation pictures in 1974. Nice memory to see your name.
Thank you for providing this information for interested parties. My aunt is Toni Ketchell and I have always wanted to know more about the incident without asking her. Thank you again.
We all love your aunt and are glad to have had the opportunity to become friends with her. She has been an inspiration to us all. Thank you for your kind words.
A friend sent me this site for the Dayton, Oh photos. When I read the photographer's name I remembered him. He took my wedding album photos. They look just as nice today as they did 43 years ago.BS
Rollie--This website is simply awesome!! Words can't express my gratitude for all the research and work you and others have done to bring all these wonderful memories back--such great pictures and articles. May God Bless You Always--Thanks Again, Patty Sturr Orville Wright 1966
