That yellow JEEP looks very similar to the one I used to have except for the rack on top. Oh how I miss the crazy fun I had in that thing. I enjoy the photos you've posted............Thanks WMS I tend to envy those who live closer to hills, mountains and roads with bends in them. We are out in the wide open spaces and have to drive (guzzle gas) to get to the good spots..Doing another adventure soon down to Landcruiser Mountain Park near Gympie in Queensland.. Great for me as they allow us to bring well behaved dogs in, so my mate 'Spanner' will, be along for the camping adventure. He loves the Jeep anyway..Will tow our Aussie Swag camper so will be almost as comfortable as home, but more fun. Hope your winter has been kind to you all.
Found your motorcycle album by chance on the home page...loved it. I have left a few comments for you to deal with.
Mike .. Thanks to your mssgs Mike, I searched for and found a few of my other motorcycle pix and posted a couple..Sorry,at this stage, they are quite low res ones.. Have to dig deeper. I had a beautiful Matchless 500cc twin with mufflers that just made music..Never put a spanner on it except for normal adjustments. Traded it on the T-110 so I could have the fastest available stock bike in Australia. Matchy,AJS,Norton,BMW (500ccs) at the time were all around 105mph while the 650cc Triumph Tiger 110, as used buy our Queensland Police were around 112mph. (I did 112mph 180kph once on mine)
Hey all you globetrotters, check this out and make one of your own. Mine's only a teeny one. Some fotkins like Gary will have massive ones - he's visited 22% of the planet!! If you don't mind, I'd like to make an album of snapshots of each of your travels as at August 2007. If you want to participate, follow the link here:
Well Sara, you may be aware the upstairs is based on Mazda™ compatable components.I cooked my original JR-2 diesel motor and slotted in a Mazda R-2..Fitted straight in..Downstairas,appears the diffs are copies of Dana's,possibily 25's or more likely 27's..I have Detriot™lokers in mine so,I doubt they would make them for Rocsta so more likely, the diff is as used on a Jeep.....Helps? hey,
im new, was admiring your rocsta and was wondering if you had a workshop manual copy i could snag to work on my little baby. if you do could u contact me on miss_pie_girl@hotmail.com as i am rarely on forums that would be fantastic.
Neil & Glenda..Magic to hear from you 2 guys..I best get back on the rails re writing..Get side tracked in Photoshop..It is addictive and don't know of any re-habilation centers to help me...As you would understand,Barb would say"he's beyond help"..I guess you two really made our Cape York adventure as great as it was and we thank you for that..Hope we cross tracks again..Regards Brian..Sun 10am (coffee time) 31-7-2005
G'day dot com, thought we'd have a gander at your site. Those shots of Cape York '89 shore does bring back the memories. When does your book get released? We'd like one. Haven't been doing much having a fight with Jayco at the moment. Say G'day to "Hot stuff" (Barb) from us. Keep on dot commin. Neil & Glenda (Blue Hi-lux)
Yeah, I did a lot of shooting from this one too. I must say I had a good laugh at the oil system - more like a motor bike! One of it's big advantages was in it's light weight and I could go places on Long Plain in the Kosciusko National Park over snow in winter that the big boys couldn't go. It was pretty wild coming down steep hills though, if you got sideways you were gone!

I just had a dummy run with a practise comment on one of my photos and it works fine. Just make sure you select the photo from the thumbnail first.
(I wasn't sure so I asked a couple of other fotki types for help. Thanks to Gary & Erin)
