Hey Dudley! Magic. You made my day. Often wonder what gives with you. A blast from the past I treasure. Don't let this one get away. How do we make contact. How well I remember the Melbourne show etc ;-) Rick Groves is involved with the QMI 2/14 museum out at Redbank and has been pushing me for pix. Snail mail to me card or anything Lofty Harris, P.O. Box 1916, Emerald, Qld 4720 I am still madly involved with photos and love digital because there ids no cost once we have a camera. Rusty (RIP) and I used to spend much of our pay on film (colour slides were expensive, but good) and chemicals to develop our B&W films/ pix. What state in Ausrtralia are you. So glad you found my Fotki site. Been a lifetime since I saw you. Hope to make contact. BOL Lofty Harris
Hi Flurk. Season greetings to you. Have a great Fotki 2011. Great pix. Hope you took them. We are way over 1000 kms from any normal snow fields, more like 1800 really. At the moment had a week of steady rain, forecast for another week of, you guessed it, rain. Temps up around 26-28 cel. Kind of pleasant really. My dog (oops! our dog Spanner is not impressed) I must have a look at your great Fotki pix.
Hi there! Lovely pictures and amazing life! Love your skydiving pics most, but all are at least interesting and tell a story. I must say I admire your adventurous life and adventure spirit you have, reminds me of my Australian friends, they are also very positive, open-minded, practical and friendly. I miss Oz...
Hey Lofty......I got your message about your trip to Birdsville. I looked it up on Google Maps just to have a look around. Geez.....there's an airstrip and everything out there. I was surprised...by that and by what appeared to be an abundance of water in what I assumed was a desert. Then I looked more closely and I'm guessing all that "water" is probably salt pans. I look forward to seeing some more up-close photos.
Loved your Birdsville album....especially the commentary. Most of that territory looks exactly like my personal stereotype of what Australia looks like. You have to be a hearty soul, or a fool, to make it out there; perhaps a bit of both, eh? I'll be back to look at more.
Thank uo for your very kind comments. i have been through emerald on my way to cape york in 1998 what a fantastic adventure i had there. would love to go again. used to have a land rover tdi300diesel, brilliant little off roader fitted with mal story(gold coast) maxi drive. now own a nissan gu tray back 4.1. i do love my 4x4 expeditions, maybe next time your down this way give me ahollar or same if im up your way. cheeers donald
Hey all you globetrotters, check this out and make one of your own. Mine's only a teeny one. Some fotkins like Gary will have massive ones - he's visited 22% of the planet!! If you don't mind, I'd like to make an album of snapshots of each of your travels as at August 2007. If you want to participate, follow the link here:
Will look back
