Hi Peter, Last week I wrote to Fotki mainly out of curiosity to find out how the scores are calculated. The correspondence follows, I don't see any problems with distribution if you see fit. My view on this whole debate, griping etc is as I wrote to TH102 Hi Tammy, I've just read your comments regarding my entry Prague at Dawn. Photography is subjective and results don't always agree with my opinions. As I saw it when I voted there were 5 images that could take out the top 5 places in any order.Only my opinion. I've recently wrote to Fotki re: the methodology behind the scoring system. I'm yet to receive a reply. All the very best and thank you for your support,
Hi Fotki, I would like to know how the scores for images are calculated. For example some contests use selecting the better from 2 images. The score is recorded decimal format eg 0.5641 Other contests ask the voter to record a score for an image and the final score is shown in decimal format eg 5.1491 Charles
Hello Charles, In "Compare 2 images" contests whenever you choose a particular picture, it receives 1 and other pictures gets 0. In "Vote 1 to 10" types of contests you set your vote and system calculates the score based on all votes received by a particular picture.
There are also some additional scores added based on a voter behavior to avoid cheating.

I just got a question from someone asking if I sell mugs with tombstone photos on them... Lol... I have the feature turned on for my photos and I don't know if you can be selective about which images are available but I never really thought much about it.
I suppose there is a certain cross-section of the population that really wants or "needs" a mug with a tombstone on it...

No, cookies are just a way programmes keep track of you and they're not all that bad. If your cookies have expired perhaps your settings have changed for fotki only. Do you have your settings to accept all cookies? If not try that.
You haven't said whether you tried to comment with your security software disabled yet, that's worth a shot too.
I struggled by forgetting one name and felt so bad about that so I locked the album before I decided how to fix it. I made it easy for me and put one more picture there,,,,,,

Thanks so much for your beautiful comments .......I put that one in the weekly for you just now .Pete they are living on my pond ,I feed the little ones twice a day & they are growing really tame ,they are absolutely gorgeous !!! The beautiful young lady Jenna ,with my Jen , was Jen's teacher aide for 3 years with me while she completed her degree in Secondary School Dance & PE ,Jenna is absolutely gorgeous & like a sister to Jen & a daughter to me , we abslutely adore her & always will ,she is a complete treasure ! Pete I nearly wrecked my computer last night trying to sort out being able to comment .if it is not Fotki & it is me ,how come I could comment before ,& also no other program of mine is having problems ???? I just cannot work it out for the life of me ,but I am getting really upset because I can't comment .........I just don't know what to do .......I put "One Love " in the weekly but I wasn't going to put anything in because it is so unfair that I cannot comment back & on otheres entries ...................Oh darn this is driving me Bananas ! Have you tried turning your security software off for a few minutes and trying to comment, to see if something has changed in your settings there?
No they pipped us for the Ashes and we slaughtered them in the one dayers so we move on. We're now playing in the One Day World Championship in South Africa.
