Hey mate, thanks for the support on the Clovelly entry, much appreciated !

Now please tell me, what is the deal with the plastic money in your country ? or is this standard issue to immigrants ? It all sounds most intriguing !

========

Gidday mate. Yes, you've pegged it, immigrants are issued with plastic money until they've proven they're not terrorists or even worse - PPG's !!

No, the polymer notes provide much greater security against counterfeiting. They also last four times as long as conventional paper notes. We're actually world leaders in bank note technology.

Now to use it to bribe the umpires in the last test for the Ashes !!

Hi Peter
Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your banter in the competitions, even if you don't know what a dry stane dyke is!!!! The competitions to me are more of a gallery and I love the comments....... the results don't really matter. Thanks for being my friend!

Thanks Myra, me too. I've met a lot of good friends through the contests, whatever their shortcomings may be, & people get so upset over them, but they serve a useful purpose. With regards friendship the feeling is mutual mate, you're one of my oldest & dearest fotki mates, & I just hope we finally make it to Scotland one day to lob on your doorstep & sus out this haggis stuff !!
..........

sure you will, Peter....... just keep stuffing the piggy bank with notes........:-)

Peter

I believe you visited my Portraits: Live albums yesterday. Any response? I get mixed reviews from too blurry to great action. As a photographer, where does your response fall?

I too enjoy a relationship with Jesus. You might like to read my journals I've posted on fotki.

My wife and I have been married for 37 years and enjoy our five kids-now-adults.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

John

Gidday John,

I visited your site initially to see who was commenting on all the old posts in the Critique Me forum. You're far better off just commenting on the recent posts because many of the authors to those older posts have moved on & won't respond to your comments. Good to hear you're a brother.

Hey Peter,
Just wanted to stop by and let you know I added a few car related albums yesterday. I think I have about 7 car related albums in my 2009 folder. Went to this years Formula Drift again this weekend, thanks to Scion. They allow about 200 Scion owners and 1 guest each, to attend the Drift event for free and also hold a car show , giveaway and feed them lunch. Its great fun.

Talk to you later
Have a great day
Brenda

Hi Peter
Just stopping by to say hello. I'm still alive. Been going nuts with all the court ordered doctors appointments, but I'm hanging in there. Hope you are doing well.

Hi,

I offered my help, and I will help anyone here who has similar problem, free of charge.
I know how how does it feel losing the files.
A friend of mine (thought) that all what he had on the disk was lost. I was able to recover it completely. You can not imagine how happy he was.

Regards from Athens

Zlatko

========

Hi Zlatko,

I've never had a total disaster but did lose some files many years ago after a virus crashed my system. I've been much more vigilant ever since. I just bought another 1 TB external drive to use as backup a couple of weeks ago.

Just the thought of losing files gives me the willies so I can imagie how relieved your friend was.

From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon the Fourth Test day.

ha ha, well done, those tailenders certainly had a crack at it eh ?!!

Yep yep, and I hope it stays that a way!! Congrats to you for winning 1st in the last digi contest, but do not let that go to yer head, it was merely a fluke, and likely to never happen again!! My oh my what has happened to this upside down Fotki world? Hey did you ever get to see Mona? I reckeon we have lost davey boy on here, he is more into Flickr these days, as is susana, what will I do without my co-hort? I guess I will have to adopt a new one, lol!! I will be on here more after the 17th, when my chitlins go back to school, finally some peace to my days, LOL!! ;)

===========

Yeah it is sad to see people go, but I think they'll find (like many others) that there's just as many problems at flickr as there are here. I was a bit disappointed they didn't say goodbye. No I haven't heard from Mona, not sure if she came out or not. Look forward to having you around more mate.

Unfotunately, rugby isn't regular programming here. ESPN will air a match once in a great while, otherwise you need to pay to watch. During one of the USA/Canada qualifiers this year they actually switched stations, because some stupid NFL quarterback got shot by his girlfriend. Not sure what the fuss was about, and his wife didn't complain.

Stanleyace Premium user South Africa wrote: Sunday, August 9, 2009 - 5:15 AM

Hey mate,
Good win for the Boks. I've got to believe now that this is a class side.
As for the cricket, I'm afraid there was no dilemma there, I switched from rugger at half time only ! Oz are giving the poms a lesson this time, which bodes well for a cliff-hanger at The Oval in the 5th !
74 for 4 and Johnson coming to light ! The commentator recons it's the haircut that did it ! whatever, he is fearsome when in full flight !

Enjoy !
