That huge wave at Dungeons is deadly serious, to coin a phrase ! Every year at this time they hold the Red Bull Big Wave competition. If memory serves, the minimum wave size for the competition to be officially recognised is 25 ft ! These lunatics gather from all over the world and hang about waiting for the minimum size to roll in. Some years this never happens. Usually they get towed out by jetski but according to the newspaper article, the guys PADDLED out on Sunday, one body boarder included ! it didn't say whether conditions were met or not(neither did it say how many failed to return !), but that wave in the photo was a monster in any man's language !! Last year one of our top photo club members hitched a ride out there and took pics - absolutely stunning !! and mind blowing in size !
:-) Congratulations Peter on 1st place with "A Model Ford at the Railway Station" Always love your work and I love this one :-) Have a great day mate! :-)smiley Paul
Hey mate, re the "angry sea" pic, have a look at this scanned image from this morning's newspaper. This was on Sunday at a spot called Dungeons (I wonder why it's called that ?) about 5km as the crow flies, from where my shot was taken ! The guy in the wave is Twiggy Baker, last year's Red Bull Big Wave Contest winner. These guys, including a body boarder, paddled out, as opposed to being towed out, to these monster waves !
no we wont , we love your work, and we sure agree with you , keep up the good work, we never claim to be professionals right? and thanks for you comment, Jean.

Oh and btw my weekly was 18th, not 47th, you really need to get those glasses fixed bro!! Now lets see if I can find anything for the weekly, something that is NOT a damm barn, LOL!! :P
Web design is keeping me off the streets, at least. I'm kind of stuck for new ideas that don't require me to come up with a lot of content. It would be better to have a client with content, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen.
So, based on past name captions, it sounded like the Aussies were on the verge of defeat, and now they have turned that around? Is that right? Well done, Mate!

PS: What does the vile little dog have to do with Disney?
G'd day bro......thanks for visit and the comments. I have replied. I slept late this morning (06:30)....that's a couple of hours later than I usually stay in the sack. My kuester was dragging as I spent over 72 hours this weekend at the track lugging my camera stuff up and down all those hills. I walked many miles and I was tired. My shoulders are even sore from those camera straps. Now I have a couple thou images to sort through to today. No rest for the wicked. I met Bobby Rahal and Gil de Ferran this weekend. Got photos of both as well as Bobby and his granddaughter. It will take me a while to get through all the stuff I have and get it posted. Keep your eyes open.
Peter, We will only be able to be at the race on race day, it would be nice to attend on Fri/Sat but our holiday schedules will not permit this....but as a "DownForce" Fan Club members in good standing, we do get many perks that others do not...... one of the highlights has been standing on pit road, shoulder to shoulder, with the likes of Johnny Rutherford, Chip Ganassi, Dan Weldon, and Aussie: Scott Dixon all at one time!! I hope you have a wonderful time at the races....I will be looking forward too your photos also..... Thomas
A little birdie tells me that you took 1st Place in a Fotki Photo Contest - well done mate :) I don't ever look at them so I didn't see it, but good-on-ya for the win.
