the products I use in my hair for braidouts, twistouts, etc are
    Giovanni Direct-Leave In Conditioner
    Coconut Oil
and Sometimes, I use Aubrey Organics B-5 GEL
I keep it real simple. The direct-leave in is really all I need sometimes, that stuff is that good.

That's great to hear, I'm glad you were encouraged and are working with your hair! It really is beautiful :) It's also great to hear about your profession...so I'm sure you understand the stress of applying and getting applications in now :)... I'm almost done and will turn in my last app in a week or two. Where I currently work, aaaalll of the black female professionals are natural, it's awesome to see and something to aspire to. Good luck on your trip.

    Hey,

We have a bunch of people from Australia at my place of work :-D

    Re: the texturiser..... NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Don't do it :-D

Try to make you curls more manageable by keeping the hair moisturised. After co/washing I leave a little of the conditioner in my hair then use from the following.... aloe vera juice, shea butter, aloe vera gel, coconut oil etc.

You really don't want to be a slave to the chemical process, having to do touch ups every 8 weeks and the problem with texturisers is that it is hard to keep uniformity of the curl pattern because the hair gets straighter depending on the following: how long you leave the product on and how you apply it. I'm sure you can't guarantee all things will remain equal each time you touch up.

Thanks for coming by Sista Love. I don't know you but I know how challenging this natural journey can be. I would advise you not to texturize your hair. What ever you do your hair will always be able to grow and be beautiful. So if you decide to texturize and then change your mind you can always BC again and start over. Happy Growing!

I love your hair and it looks very beautiful on you. Don't change your texture. I know from experience, that 3 to 6 inches of hair gets old. I did braids for two weeks and missed my hair so much that I couldn't wait to take them out. Hang in there and it will be worth the wait. Experiment more and find the styles that you like, don't listen to others. It's all about you!!!

Thanks for your compliment and sharing your pictures. I've always wanted to be able to go to Australia and New Zealand. Hopefully I will be able to travel out there and stay for a while, either next year or the year after. Hopefully next year though. :-)
