Hi Bill, Thanks for stopping by! Hope you're doing well and having fun! Do you get on the Spotlight Hobbies Message Board much these days? Take care and keep building those terrific models!
Hey Bill, I'm working on my old car I used to have. I had a 66 mercury convertible like the AMT kit so I was glad to see the reissue. However, as it was a convertible I must cut the top. I've done that but the back(tulip) isn't right so I'm looking at your GTO project very closely maybe I can ask some questions here and there? My favorite Hobby shop is closing here after 62 years 2 generations she has 50% of all stock so I've been buying, gotts get that 66 Merc again though. Thanks, Steve B.
Hey Bill, Can't see what I'm typing.Anyway, In your opinion what comes close to Alcad when it comes to acrylics as I'm in an appartment now with the fumes and all? Thanks Bill Steve B.
Hi Bill, Found the tutorial in MCM. I have a question though about the Spider lines that re-appear after painting. Does the future cover those? I have a Tamiyia porsche 911 Turbo it has spider lines on the roof. Do I put future on after primer? Thanks, Steve B
I don't know about putting Future on after primer Steve. I always put the Future on before any painting as a barrier. That one's a mystery to me as Future always came before anything else.
If you have spider lines (cracking) of the paint, you might not have any other choice but to strip and repaint that section unfortunately. :(
Hi Bill, Forum has been a little slow lately. Yeah that 49 Merc is cool my daughter bought the Revell for me. Hey, is that the Mercedes Harry has? I can't even think of doing that one! Don't work to hard!! Cheers, Steve B.
Yeah Steve, that's the Pocher Mercedes kit I sold him a month or two ago. I had it for years and knew I wasn't going to build it, so I figure I'd sell it to him as I knew he would build it.
I had NO IDEA it was that difficult to get together though! Better him than me as I don't know if I want to go through something that persnickety these days!
I've been in a bit of a modeling slump lately..........work and overtime taking its toll for now. Hopefully I can snap out of it soon and get back to working on the '49 Merc. I've also got a resin in the works which will be my next car--------need to find some more reference pics for it though ('64 Olds Cutlass).
