That's about five kilometres up the road from my place last Tuesday night. My wife is scared of dogs and I went for a drive to find a good place for us to go for a walk with out any dogs around, and the clouds looked like it could be a good sunset opportunity, so I looked for something cool to put in the foreground. I drove past that windmill and the trees and thought I'll come back there when the sun's going down. So I went back and just sat in the car for half an hour and waited for the light I wanted. I peeled off about 160 shots to get the ones I was happy with - don't you love digital!


You must live in paradise my friend. Wish I had that kind of view around the corner from my place. I can only dream.

Hi Milton. Yes we are fortunate. We really wanted to buy a house on acreage but just couldn't afford it, so we found our current home which looks out over a farmers paddocks, so we just pretend we're the owners and someone else looks after all the stock! We're on the outskirts of town and it's being developed, so sooner or later a developer will offer the farmer too much money to refuse and we'll lose the view. But we're enjoying it in the mean time. Thanks for looking for that song.

you had asked about banner software. there is a bunch of free and easy-to-use gif animation software out there for frame-by-frame designs. i happen to be using flash4, which can do a lot more than simple animates, but it works to create the easy stuff as well. i used a somewhat more complex design for the banners on my site.
