My father tells me that his Grandfather was one of the people that got this cemetary devoted to his faith. My grandmother is 90 and still alive living in San Francisco. She has shown me Sunday School pictures on Portero Hill. My father has very loving memories of his grandpa. If you have any info on him, please send it to me. Sadly, my dad's grandapa died young was very missed by my dad . I visited my Great-grandpa's and Great-great-grandma's graves many times has a young child. My father was so happy to see your web site and your pictures of our family's grave stones. Thank you.

"My father tells me that his Grandfather was one of the people that got this cemetary devoted to his faith." Interesting Jackie.. I'm sorry.., I have no information on your Great Great Grandparents, or any of your Family members. (Ghrishka)

Hi Grishka, as i was looking through your site on Molokons, photo #24 of 73 with the names Nellie J. Zolotof and Andrew jack Shubin, Seattle, WA 1935, appear to be my Grandmother, Pauline Shubin's, uncle and aunt. I remember visiting them when they lived on their farm in Kerman, CA. Do you have any other information on them so i can confirm my hunch? my grandmother came through Ellis island then to San Francisco. Then on to East Los Angeles. I went to the Molokon Sunday School for years. These pictures took me on a trip down memory lane, thank you, Chris McGrew

Hello Chris, Thanks for your input. Andrew Jack Shubin was my 2nd cousin, and as such I have plenty of information on our Family Tree. Please contact me at < Ghrishka@Hotmail.com > so we compare notes. (Ghrishka)

I found myself visiting your website so often, I had to bookmark it! Thank you so much for all the work you've done in putting this website together. Your photos of gravestones, especially, are invaluable, and I enjoy going through the "Unknown and Antique Photos" page. I notice you have quite a few Makshanoff photos. I'm researching my husband's Makshanoff line, and I wondered if you--or someone you might know--might be a good source of information. Thank you again.

Thank You Janet, I appreciate your input. With a little help I should be able to help in your quest, if you would give me a hint as to the connection to "Makshanoff". Please contact me at < Ghrishka@Hotmail.com >

George, thanks for efforts on this
presentation....
It gives a pictoral of the dwindling
Russian Colony in the Guadelupe
Valley, B.C. Mexico. It also serves as
a historical value of times past.
The valley has become a great tourist
attraction and learning center
because of the Russian Colony, the
wine industry and fine restrants.
Many tourists want to see the museums
(2), the church and the cemetary..JNK

I am interested in traveling to san Felepe and a possible investment in a small parcel on the Sea of Cortez. Also maybe take a tour to the Molokan community you went to. How safe would it be to travel on a motor home?

Great pictures. After 40+ years I'd planned to go on this tour. (Ensenada-Guadalupe) Only health problems intereferred with me doing it and I sent my niece, Terry, instead. She enjoyed the tour, visiting with those on the trip, and came away very impressed with what she learned. Next time will be my turn.
