Hi Gary, thought I would drop by and wish you a Happy 4th of July, sorry I'm so late but its the first chance I've had, hope you had a wonderful time, take care and God bless.
Hi my New Jersey friend - thanks for staying for a couple of days here in CT with me and bringing Peter with you. He's a great guy !! Your pics taken around Yale University on Thursday will be fantastic to see and when we see the ones you took on the Essex Steamtrain and riverboat ride - I know those will be great. Gillette's Castle was a great treat too, gees we did a lot on Friday. I know you've got some fab pictures and thanks for the July 4th celebration...we really did have a great time - all of us..... Hugs as always, Susi
I don't know if you have had a chance to see my responses to the notes you and Peter left in my guest book. From the looks of what may be open or closed tomorrow, the 4th, I am wondering if it should be just a relaxing day. Janet wants me to spend the holiday with her, of course.
On Saturday, the Danbury Railway museum will be open its regular hours from 10:00 to 17:00 hours. The will also have the railyard ride similar to what we did. They will also offer a ride in the locomotive, which Peter might like. Perhaps I could meet you and peter there in the morning. Susi can take over the afternoon. I have not heard from her so I am not sure what she wants to do.
Another possibility, since you want to see the Southbury Library is to go there after the railway museum. We just opened a new small exhibit there on the life of American composer Leroy Anderson. He would be 100 years old this month. From there we could go on to the Golden Age of Trucking Museum, if the weather is bad, or to the park Susi and I visited a couple of months ago.
These are just suggestions. I am not sure what your final schedule will be. What are your thoughts?
Peirce
PS: The time stamp up on the blue bar seems to be a day slow.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Hello Peirce... Thanks for your update and message... we got to Susi's place last evening (thur) and will be here today and this evening for the fireworks. Your plan of meeting at the Danbury Railway museum Sat AM is fine... Peter will enjoy that, especially since he is a new train driver in his job in Holland... A quick visit to the Southbury Library would be nice,,, then we should head on to our Block Island Visit in RI as we will need to catch the Ferry later in the day... So Sat AM will be our visit to you... hope that is ok... let me know what time 9, 9:30 or 10am ??? Thanks so much, Gary and Peter!!!
Hello All!!! Having an awesome time in New York City!!!
I picked up Peter Molenaar from Holland on Monday at the Newark Airport and we are exploring the City for a few days and then will head North for some hiking around Salisbury, Connecticut and then will see Perice, then Susi,,, then friends at Block Island RI... then head up to Boston...
I hope to post some photos soon... but time is always short on the road!!!
Next stop ---> the hostel here has a "Harlem" tour for 10 bucks and 4 hours... yesterday Peter and I did the "Greenwich Village" tour!!! 5 hours for 10 bucks too... Was Great,,, then did WTC and Ground Zero followed by a free Staten Island Ferry ride that goes past the Statue of Liberty for some awesome shots...
The hostel also offered a "free" pub crawl" where you just pay for your own drinks... What a day!!! Gotta go!!! Cheers!!! Gary

Linda disappeared for no obvious reason. At least no reason we know. She might be back some day... If you send me some of your home brewed wine, then you visit me and we drink some of it together; or: if I visit you and we drink some of your home brewed wine: what a good time this must be!
