Hi Gary, nice photos of Vietnam and you sure enjoyed the food : ) The only bad part is the long flight, but it's better than going by boat in the old days. I'm sure you will be back soon. Ann : )

Gary - Wishing you a safe homecoming - your trip has to have been an eye-opening view of how other people do live today. We are a very fortunate people and seeing photos like these just reminds us.

Talk to you soon.

Hugs
Susi

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
Thanks Again Susi... yes, in many ways it is a much different world than we are used to but some basic things remain the same... we all want good health, peace, happiness and prosperity... sometimes it's not how much we actually have as compared to others but how much we percieve we have in relation to what our actual needs are. The people here in Vietnam are some of the happiest and gratefull people that I have ever met... Be home soon... crossing the international date line later today!!! Catching a taxi for the airport in 30 minutes!!! Bye Bye Gary

I found your Nam albums just surfing different albums on Fotki. I like to view others work. Here is an album I put up yesterday. It will give you an idea what things looked like to me in Viet-Nam 40 years ago.

http://public.fotki.com/JackandVicki/viet-nam-1967-68-69/

I'm in a few of them.

Hello Scott!!! Thanks so much for your return reply in my Fotki and the link you left!!! I will be home in a few days and can explore all 62 photos better then as the internet is so slow,,, page turns are 30 seconds or so... so it will take to long to go thru... but I can't wait to see more and have a discussion with you about then and now... Glad we came across each other in Fotki!!! Gary in Nj!!!

PS... I added you to my friends list... hope that's ok!!! Gary

just browsed through some of you Viet-Nam albums. I was there from Sept 67 to Aug 69. Looks like a lot has changed since then. I often think about going back for a tour but, I might find the part of me that I left there. I was on a hill named Camp Carrol 17 miles north of Dong Ha about 10 miles from the DMZ. I also visited Khe San during Tet.

Hello Scott!!! Thank you so much for your visit to my current Vietnam Albums and your comment in my guestbook... My three weeks touring here in Vietnam is coming to a close this Sunday when I fly back to Phila... It has been an unbelievable adventure and I will be posting alot more photos of Nha Thrang, DaNang, Saigon, The Mekong Delta, Hoi An and others... I hope that we can keep in touch and you can share with me some of your impressions and past memories so that I can continue to piece things together... Thanks Again!!! Gary in Nj=USA

Greetings from Dalat, Vietnam!!! Visiting the Hill Tribe People (the Lat People of Dalat)) was an awesome experience and I got to participate in a dance with them and drink rice wine.

The weather warms as I head South and today I will depart Dalat and catch a flight to Ho Chi Mingh City (HCMC or Saigon... as many still say)

Soon I will visit the tunnels (and go in them!) that were used during the war in the 50's 60's and 70's and next day visit an orphanage.

For anyone checking in here, thank you!!! I don't usually have the time or fast connection to make replies but I can read all the wonderfull comments and really appreciate them!!! Thanks So Much!!! Gary

Peace!!!

Gees Gary - sounds like the intense part is yet to come - visiting an orphanage would probably cause me upset. A mom can never walk away from a child in need....
