Enjoyed the photos, ... my ancestors came to CT in late 1630's, not exactly sure, to CT, via Saybrook Point. Lyme, New London, Rocky Hill, & Branford are all locations I see in old family records. ...then my line moved west to northeast OH before 1800. I need to learn more of the CT history.

Beautiful images, you really captured the beauty and diversity of Connecticut.
Just wanted to add my congratulations on your images here. No wonder so many people like them.. they are GRRREAT! (With apologies to Tony the Tiger)
Beautiful colors, composition, and sense of 'place'. Do you perchance do work for postcard companies, or area chambers of commerce, or calendar makers, or.... ...wink...
I would be interested in knowing if you shoot digitally or on film and then digitize.
Thanks again for posting your images.

THIS IS A HOBBY OF MINE WHICH, I HOPE, WILL BE USED BY FUTURE GENERATIONS AS A REFERENCE TO SEE HOW THE TOWNS OF CONNECTICUT LOOKED IN A SMALL TIME FRAME (2004 - 2006?).
IN REPLY TO YOUR QUESTION ABOUT MY PHOTOS, OVER 90 PERCENT ARE DIGITAL (THE COST AND TIME CONSUMPTION, OF USING FILM, IS BEYOND MY MEANS).
Next time you're in Huntington, you need to take some shots of St. Lawrence Church and the resorvoir near the Shelton Industrial Park and Jones' Christmas Tree Farm.
Take care, Sue

Hi Jerry, I live in Middletown, CT and I really liked your pics. They put a really cool perspective on a town that I've lived in for over 20 years and have come to take for granted a bit. Awesome job! I'm going to be upgrading my page to premium sometime soon but for now I have a few pics up there. Feel free to check them out. later! --Ryan

Dear Jerry, I came across your photography and I just wanted to let you know, you have a wonderful eye for photography. Your pictures are beautiful, GREAT JOB !
Jerry, have you ever checked out a website called "A Picture's Worth"? www.1000words.net/800x600.html Take a look and think about submitting some of your pics for the site. I'm still peeking in on your site every so often. Kind of an armchair travelog. Great work! Sandy

Enjoyed pictures of Hartford, especially First Church & Ancient Burial Ground. Disappointed not to find a picture of the new statue of Samuel Stone, as I am one of his descendants. Retired, and living in Florida, I will not likely get to see it in person.
SAMUEL STONE'S STATUE IS PICTURE NUMBER 157, ALSO HIS NAME IS ON THE FIRST SETTLERS MONUMENT (PICTURE NUMBER 158) 18th FROM THE TOP LEFT.
Great pics. My Mom would never think her picture would be on the internet. Hope you will return to Beacon Falls and look me up, I so much to show you. Keep up the great work!

I WAS HONORED TO INCLUDE YOUR MOTHER IN MY ALBUM, WITH 39 YEARS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE, SHE DESERVES THE SPOT LIGHT I WAS ABLE TO GIVE TO HER!

Thanks for that Jerry, without doubt submariners are a breed apart. Oddly enough my comp photo is of a submariner, a friend of mine who was discharged from the navy after a mishap on a sub. He now has to wear a back brace permantly. regards MTE
Great photos of Huntington. I went to St. Lawrence School, which is right near the Green. It makes me miss CT even more. Thanks for the memories!
-Sue
I THINK THE SCHOOL IS NOW THE SHELTON COMMUNITY CENTER COMPLEX (LIBRARY - POST OFFICE - COMMUNITY CENTER). NOW, I'M SORRY THAT I DIDN'T TAKE A PICTURE OF THE SCHOOL. IF I'M IN THE REGION AGAIN I'LL MAKE SURE TO TAKE IT THEN. ------
The old Huntington School became the post office and community center. My school was the Catholic School next to the river, across from the Brownson Country Club Golf Course. I graduated from there way, way back in '83.
THANK YOU FOR THAT INFORMATION, IT'LL CLARIFY WHAT I SHOULD BE LOOKING FOR.
---- Hi Jerry,
I hope I didn't sound ungrateful. Your pictures are terrific!!
-Sue
YOU MISUNDERSTOOD MY INTENTION. I JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF THERE WAS ANYTHING THAT I MIGHT HAVE MISSED. WHEN I GO BACK I'LL BE ABLE TO INCLUDE ANY SUGGESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE.
I'm still looking at these fantastic pics! Every time I pop in the list is longer. Great meeting you at St John's in E.Hartford. What a great community of folks here on Fotki- makes me want to get a digital camera and get started. At the rate I'm going it will be when I retire from my retirement!!! Keep on clickin' Sandy

Great pictures! Makes me want to move to Conneticut, Vegas is lacking such scenery.
