Hello! What products do you use? I think we are similar textures and i;m really not out to spend a crazy amount of money on a million things to figure out what works for my hair... I don't have it right now so I'm fotki stalking!

Hi, right now I still haven't settled on staple products. Whatever I do I always deep condition at least once a week with a moisture dc. Right now I'm using aubrey organics honeysuckle rose for a moisture dc and aphogee for my protein dc- not a big fan of the aphogee so I will be trying something else when it's done. Some people are protein sensitive so just do a protein DC as often as you think your hair needs it.
I cowash as often as I need it with aussie moist conditioner. It ends up being every 2-3 days. I've also used Trader Joe nourish spa condish. Both worked really well and are pretty cheap.
For my shampoo I haven't settled on a staple but I'm trying to stick to something sulfate free. In the past I used Trader Joe nourish spa shampoo (cheap and worked great). Right now I'm using aussie moist shampoo (also cheap, works decently).
For a leave in I need a cream based leave in and I seal with coconut oil or shea butter or a coconut oil/shea butter mix. I've used bedhead moisture maniac (ok), karens body beautiful hair milk (not impressed), and Trader joe nourish spa (the cheapest and also worked the best of all the leave ins I've tried).
  • oh wow. i think we have the same texture and almost the same hair length. its funny because i transitioned for maybe 3 months and had an inch of napps at bc. you transitioned for 15 months then bc'd and youre almost neck and neck with me. we definitely need to be sharing products, routines, etc! congrats :-)
