I saw your post on LHCF and had to come over to check you out. Don't worry about mom, she'll get used to it and come around. I remember the first time my uncle (who is a beautician for over 50 yrs) saw my natural hair. He was repulsed. Still he asks when I'm gonna come and let him relax me, he knows i'm done with all of that, and he admires me for it.
Thanks for visting my fotki. To answer your question, yes, my hair is extremely coarse. The best things to soften my hair is shea butter sealed with an oil. Scurl is good too...a little goes a long way. Good luck on your transition :)

My new growth is generally soft in the middle but around the nape it tends to be coarse and puffy lol so that causes me to relax..that and the tons of shedding I get.
