Hello, I see you're into nostalgia. Not sure what neck of the woods you reside in but if you are ever in Wisconsin say 2nd week of August or there about you might want to check out a vintage car show called Symco Shakedown. Its held in the long forgotten town of Symco WI. You can find them on the web.
hi, did you realize that your originals are now gone and Fotki.com will now want you to pay money to get any of it back, also if you dont pay they will destroy all your originals?
My pleasure. The Hotel Colfax has such an interesting history. It's a shame that the older portion of the building isn't in existance anymore. But at least we have what we do!
You have a number of interesting images of work by Mario Korbel. I'd be interested in knowing where they came from (other than the Angel). I am researching Mario Korbel for a short, private article.
Mario Korbel was my stepfather's father.
I lokk forward to hering from you. Thanks for your time.
In all honesty, all the photos I have (beside the Black Angel, which I personally took) are photos I found on the web, while doing a search for your step grandfather. I think that the Black Angel sculpture is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, and it is a travesty the way it has been portrayed and treated. Frome there I developed an interest in Mario Korbel, and his other work. He was a true artist, and I would love to see more awareness of his work. It is beautiful and sensual at the same time. One of my favorites is "The Kiss".
I wish you success in your very worthwhile endeavor, and if there is any way I can be of help, do let me know. Please feel free to use any of my photos you wish (with photographic credit to me) as well. Also, if you would care to share of your research with me, I would love to read it. I would also love to see your finished product. The link below is a Google image search. There is a lot more now than there was in 2007, when I first put that album together.
Dave: You have an absolute fabulous collection of automotive related photographs. Thank you for sharing them with those of us not quite on your par with the camera. Tamsmodeler
