I have joined the "Sistahood" of Sister Locks! I love my hair. So many compliments in just two weeks. I can't wait til my hair grows out and I do some of the pretty hairdos I've seen online. Thank you Stephanie...and thank you Paulette for giving me back my groove!!
Although I am a traditional dreaddie. I have to admit those SL's are very beautiful I love the various sizes and textures. It only goes to show how beautiful locks are as a whole. Thank you for sharing it is always an inspiration to see beautiful black women sporting their natural tresses!!!!!!! :-)
Thank you! I just got my retightening done so I feel good now! I had to keep changing the dates so it was like 7 weeks out! I love to see the grid! Yeah, I love it though!
All I can say is wow! You have been a very busy woman and your husband (I assume) is doing a great job with the pictures. I have been our your site for over an hour.
The next time I have a client with long enough hair, I am going to section the hair off like you did. I can see how that could save a lot of time. Keep up the good work, you are the bomb!
I will be attending the SL training class next month in Toronto and I am so excited about this journey. I view your sight atleast once a day, your work is amazing and inspiring. I also want to commend on your willingness to share your knowledge with others. I called you a couple of weeks ago with some questions and you graciously took the time to speak with me. Thank you so much. How do I get a password to view your secured photos, I have sent email request. I will be in touch with you again after my training next month!
Hi Ms Paulette, You are God sent. I recently took the 4 day training in San Diego. Had a wonderful time and I learned soooooooo much (LOL). It was of course overwhelming to say the least. After returning from the training I was still a little aloof about the partings. Just knowing that I can now go to your site as a reference really has calmed my anxiety. Your pictures are so detailed and beautiful. Thank you so much.
Yesterday/today I had my first client. It was a retightening of 4 month old locs. It took me a total of 10 hours ( Part of why it took so long was because of my newness to the SL craft). She has probably close to 500 locs and has not been maintaining them properly. There was quite a bit of slippage at the root. Instead of using the Sisterlock Starter shampoo she's been using a neutralizer type of shampoo (per her consultant's advice). I lovingly asked to switch to SL shampoo. She said she would. She was please with my work and now I will be doing her mother and sister's loc retightenings.
Because the Sisterlock course was so thorough I was able to comfortably give my client sound advise. I really felt good about it and I humbly realize that I have a long way to go. I want to challenge myself to increase my speed.
