Hi Mary! I am back...we had 3 weeks of peace and quiet ...oh well, not so quiet in Tuscany but the Alps were rather quiet though. Now I am so busy sorting all the pics out and make hard decisions on what to keep and what to bin! I only did 3 albums so far....it looks like I will be busy for a few more days though...:) Hope you are doing fine...I see you have been gardening a lot? Will get back soon as I have done a bit more work in the house and the puter! Viviane
Alaska sounds like a fantastic place. Still wild and untouched. Amazing thought that a bear could suddenly appear from behind a bush. Very wise of you to have taken the other route!
During my visit to Svalbard I was hoping to see a polar bear, but then at a safe distance. Everybody was talking about polar beer sightings, and every second person was carrying a gun. I was more scarred of the people carrying guns than the polar bears! They have these road signs warning about polar bears, at all the roads leading out of town. I took a walk along the road leading from the airport to town. Later the afternoon a taxi driver told me that he has spotted a bear on this part of the road. Truth or fantasy for the tourists, who knows? :-)
Ooops, Mary!!! It was because you had just looked at my Bob's Garden photos that I thought you had put some photos on for Bob to see. No matter, we both enjoyed your garden immensely, and are amazed at the work that has obviously gone into making your own wee bit of heaven. Slainte Myra
Hi Mary Thanks for your recent visit and your welcome comments. It is always lovely to have you. Bob has had a look at your album for him (I think you mean MY Bob but if not please forgive me), and is most impressed with your garden. We also looked at your next album together, and left some comments. Hope life is good for you just now. We are having a most unusual warm spell in Scotland with temperatures in the high 20's, unusual for us to get a sustained period of warmth, but we are enjoying it, although I don't like excessive heat I do love the sun. We are walking tomorrow so hope it is a little cooler. Slainte Myra
I'm happy you like my picture in "flag" contest, view to the Kackar mountains from 4700m was amazing, we were lucky for great weather and this Turkish flag looked so proud standing there that the picture was just automated reaction :)
Hi Mary, finally got some spare time to do some Fotki visits! Been so busy...and now I am going to shoot a lot next week. I am going to meet Drib in Amsterdam for lunch and I am going to have a stroll with my kid later on. I hope I can takle a few pics too...Yesterday I have been out for the day with a friend who photographs too so that was very relaxing. We visited an old small town not far from where I live. I used to come there a lot since a friend lived there and later on I just sort of forgot about the photo possibilities... So we had a rainy and very mixed weather day but it was fun! Pics were all taken with my new camera, it was hard to adapt for the ever changing light and I was the first time really practicing. It works a treat but I still have to get used to it to get everything out that's in it! :) I am the weakest link now and that will have to change! Have a nice Sunday! Viviane
