The hair is fine.  I am not as obsessed with it anymore.  It does not consume me.  We are finally at peace with one another.  haha.  How about you?  I figured you had permed it and called it quits. lol.

Hey lady! To answer you question on how I achieved that style. It was an old twist out. I finger parted some hair out in the front in like a thick box that would be like a BANG from back in the day. Then I puffed the rest w/o making the puff small. I then retwisted the hair in the puff and twisted the bang until time to leave. Thus the pics with the shades. I had to pin the twist down in order to go out the house...lol and it became a style! I loosened all the twists pinned the front back with a hump and VOILA...that's it!!

I love how fast you respond. You got right on it. haha. Thanks. I will try this when I get out of these box braids in a few weeks. If I remember correctly my twist outs become sort of tight or dense at the roots after a few days. Your's look light and fluffy. I wonder if it would make a difference if I did the twists on dry hair. Hmmm, something to think about. Or it could be because I spritz it. I don't know, trial and error I guess.

Hey sis'!! I felt obliged to comment on your March hair woes because I have some of the same problems. I too have a few strands with those "bubble" like splits that show up in the middle of the strain. I have yet to find out what causes them. I have only straightened once in two years, I usually keep my hair protective styled for 6 months out the year and I still see split ends. My hair is very strong but it does bother me that I just trimmed maybe a month and a half ago and I am still seeing a few splits although I deep condition, moisturize, and protective style. I have chosen not to put a lot of stock into it. . . .as long as my hair is still retaining length and as long as I am not seeing any increase in breakage, then I'm just gonna let my hair "do-what-it-do!" If you do find out more information on the cause of those "bubble" mid-strand splits, do share.

I feel you on the splits frustration. I keep mine in protective styles about 85% of the time and still I see this little evil bubbles in my hair. I finally went ahead and got my hair professionally straightened and got another trim just to be safe. About another inch. She thought my hair looked very healthy. As a matter of fact she was impressed. Now mind you I had already went crazy with the scissors a few weeks before I saw her, and I had had a lady at the Walmart salon cut about 1/2 in when I was in box braids. So hopefully all those bubbles are gone, not sure. I am going to wash my hair this week and I will let you know what I find out. Hopefully it reverts back with no problems and the splits will be history. I have decided to just try to let it go and try to enjoy my hair, but I am going to get back into box braids ASAP to keep them protected a little longer and try to retain length since I cut so much. I have cut a minimum of two inches in two months. So now I am back at 7.5 to 8in. Frustrating. But I want healthy hair right? So let it be.

Beautiful pics sis! To answer your question, I use shea butter on my twists...usually on wet hair. I normally let air dry and untwist and just wear it unmanipulated for about 2-3 days, then I began pulling apart which is the pics that you saw with the volume. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

OK, maybe the leaving it unmanipulated for 2-3 days is the critical piece I am missing. haha. I can't keep my hands out of it when it is free and then I spray something on it every morning. I normally have definition for about a week, except in the front center. I have to retwist those bad babies b/c they don't want to hold nothing. But I just can't seem to get the volume w/o frizziness that you get. Maybe my hair needs to be much longer to be bigger. I am only a little over 8 or so inches. come to think about it, it could be the size of my twists too. I normally do them really small. Maybe that is why they don't want to stretch out and reach for the sky. haha. We shall see. Trial and error. Trial and error. Thanks.

Yes ma'am its definitely TRIAL and ERROR! I put about 15-20 twists...and once I begin to separate..its reaches for the heavens...lol! Let me know if you try this method. I will tell you that I don't get the same volume with smaller twists. They tend to lay more.
